RN Hospice/Community Educator bei Hospice of Northwest Ohio

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
• Holds a current registered nurse license; certification in Hospice and Palliative Care is required or obtained within 1 year.
• Previous experience working in healthcare, hospice and community outreach preferred.
• Possesses strong written and presentation skills, as well as strong interpersonal, collaboration and relationship-building skills. Strong organization skills, time management and ability to work independently or collaboratively, able to meet deadlines and adjust when needed to changing priorities
• Has the ability to research and prepare presentations that meet identified needs within the community.
• Is certified, or willing to become certified, as an Advance Care Planning facilitator / educator
• Must have experience using an EMR.
• Must be proficient in the usage of Microsoft applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
• Must be able to work any shift to meet the education needs of all employees, all shifts.
• Understands hospice philosophy, principles of death/dying, concepts of pain/symptom management and adult teaching-learning principles.
