Job Description:Title: Officer, Communications
Location: Washington, DC or Remote
Reports To: Associate Director, Communications & Digital Strategy
Classification: Full-time, exempt
The Officer, Communications is a member of the External Affairs team, working under the Associate Director, Communications & Digital Strategy. The Officer will work with the Lead Storyteller in implementing a comprehensive digital communications strategy that increases visibility of the EGPAF's efforts to eliminate pediatric AIDS through a variety of communication channels.
They will be responsible for leading social media content strategy and digital marketing efforts that includes the management of EGPAF’s social media platforms, website, and email marketing communications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads EGPAF’s social media strategy and produces all content for social media platforms, including copywriting, graphic creation, and video production.
- Collaborates with Lead Storyteller on content production and promotion, including written, video, and audio storytelling efforts
- Manages pedaids.org including regular updating of copy, creation of new pages, and monitoring of analytics.
- Creates and executes ad hoc paid social media advertising campaigns on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn;
- Develops monthly analytics reports to guide EGPAF digital strategy and recommend adjustments
- Manages EGPAF’s monthly newsletter, including content creation, design and setup, audience/list management, scheduling, distribution, and performance tracking.
- Ensures consistency of EGPAF’s brand voice, tone, and messaging across all digital platforms.
- Adapts to changing social media trends and recommends new creative techniques and best practices to EGPAF team;
- Provides project support to Associate Director, Digital Marketing, and Vice President of Strategic Engagement;
- Admin duties as requested including invoice processing, note-taking, and assisting with photo/video archiving and management
- Other projects and duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in digital communications, social media management, or marketing (nonprofit or global health experience preferred).
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail.
- Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), email marketing platforms, and social media scheduling tools.
- Proficiency in graphic design and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Premiere Pro, or similar).
- Knowledge of SEO, paid social advertising, and digital analytics (Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, etc.).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills and ability to translate complex global health topics for diverse audiences.

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this position is $53,733 (minimum) to $67,166 (midpoint) annually in the Washington, DC Metro area. For US-based remote staff, EGPAF uses geographical ranges that are based on the candidate’s location and the associated cost of labor. Actual base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as qualifications, experience and training, education and certifications, internal equity, external market data, and budget.
