In this role, you’ll be a key contributor to our Systems Department, responsible for maintaining the core Linux server environment that powers DCI’s core processing systems. These systems help local banks process transactions quickly and securely—and your work will directly impact thousands of community banks across the country. What You'll Do
Key responsibilities include:
- Support and maintain DCI’s Linux server environment, including patching, server builds, and basic scripting.
- Monitor system logs and performance metrics to ensure reliable daily operations.
- Follow pre-defined operating policies and procedures for system updates, backups, and recovery protocols.
- Assist in managing file systems, including disk space usage, drive mounting/unmounting, permissions, and ownership.
- Participate in the upgrade project to retire legacy Linux systems.
- Help implement and support Log Management and Patch Management systems under guidance.
- Collaborate with DBAs, Technical Services, and Development teams to support cross-functional systems needs.
- Document your work, raise potential process gaps, and follow best practices for system administration.
- Contribute to printer setup tasks using CUPS (Common UNIX Printing System), as needed.
- Participate in backup, recovery planning, and testing activities.
- Participate in on-call rotation to support systems 24x7, including availability for off-hour maintenance.
- Travel may be required for major issues with short notice.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Help You Stand Out
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Familiarity with Linux-based printing (CUPS), sudo privileges, and least privilege best practices.
- Exposure to system monitoring tools (Ansible, Grafana, Python, etc.)
- Experience working with patch and log management systems.
- Understanding of supporting technologies: DNS, Anti-Virus, Systems Management
- Solid general understanding of distributed computing concepts, including the principles of network routing and client/server technologies.
- Effective planning, coordination, time management, and organization skills.
- A curious mindset, eagerness to learn, and strong self-starting initiative.
- Prior banking or financial services tech experience (always a plus at DCI!).

You might assist a team member with printer troubleshooting, or review disk usage metrics and confirm systems are running smoothly. Requirements
What We're Looking For
To be considered for this role, you'll need the following required qualifications:
- 0–2 years of experience with Linux systems, professional experience preferred
- Familiarity with command line tools and Linux-native commands.
- Basic understanding of client-server architecture and networking fundamentals.
- Exposure to shell scripting (ability to understand and select appropriate scripts—not expected to write them initially).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow defined procedures accurately.
- Effective communicator with the ability to document technical processes clearly.
- Comfortable collaborating with technical teams and learning from others.
- Willingness to provide on-call support and travel when needed (up to 5 business days by driving or flying to primary or disaster recovery sites)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook & Teams
