CALL is the Cheshire Academy for Lifelong Learning and the instructors provide non-credit courses to seniors (50+). The courses are held in various modalities including in-person, on-line, and hybrid options. Instructors design and deliver course content in traditional academic areas such as History, Art, Writing, Psychology, Social Sciences; and usually do not include skills-based or training programs. They are responsible for assessment of the course delivery and contribute to an overall assessment of the CALL program and planning for continuous improvement. They do not assess student learning and do not assign grades or credits to participants.

Duties/Responsibilities
Course Preparation (50%)
Develop engaging course(s) for contracted CALL terms
Provide an outline and list of outcomes for the course to the Program Coordinator
Collaborate with CALL Coordinator around schedule, content and outcomes for each term.
Complete all required forms for onboarding, parking, printer access, etc.
Course Delivery (50%)
Provide agreed upon materials, outcomes, and content for each term as contracted.
Provide any necessary information to students via email or in class.
Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and interactive classroom environment.
Encourage discussion, questions, and collaborative learning.
Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs and interests of participants.
Communicate regularly with the Program Coordinator regarding course logistics and participant feedback.
Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
Highschool diploma.
Proven personal or professional experience in the course topic area.
Previous teaching, coaching, training, or public speaking experience (formal or informal).
Commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive learning environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the subject matter.
Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
Ability to engage and inspire adult learners.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Comfortable facilitating group discussions and hands-on activities.
Willingness to incorporate diverse perspectives and learning styles.
Preferred Qualifications:
Post-secondary education degree or certificate.
Experience teaching or presenting to adult learners.
Prior involvement with community education, enrichment programs, or senior learning groups.
Familiarity with basic technology tools for presentations (e.g., PowerPoint, Zoom).
Ability to integrate multimedia, demonstrations, or field trips into the course.
