Position Summary: Middleboro location

The Cookie Cupboard Staff role supports the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (GSEMA) cookie cupboards during the annual Girl Scout Cookie Program season. This is a temporary, part-time position effective December 1, 2025 – March 6, 2026.

 

The role of the Cookie Cupboard Staff is customer-facing and involves processing and filling cookie orders (accurate counting cases of cookies, each case containing 12 packages) lifting the case (@20 pounds) and putting them in place for volunteers to pick up.

 

Hours: Must be able to work approximately 30 hours per week (Hours will vary by assigned cupboard, approximate hours Tuesdays 12:00-4:30PM, Wednesday 12:00-7:30PM, Thursday 11:00-6:30PM, Friday 9:00-1:30PM, Saturday 8:30-10:15AM). Hours are flexible and volume-based from December 1, 2025 -March 6, 2026.

Tuesday’s are the busiest days. Wednesday & Saturday are firm. There is flexibility with hours on all other days. 

 Key Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare cookie orders for pick-up; this includes pulling cases of cookies from pallets and reading order forms
  • Verify customer pick up.
  • Assist with the maintenance of inventory by assisting with cookie delivery from agent.
  • Assist with keeping the inventory in the cupboard organized.
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service.
  • Work positively with the Product Program team to make the cookie cupboard a positive experience for volunteers and family members picking up cookies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements of role:  

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a customer-focused mindset, and committed to delivering excellent customer service with a collaborative and supportive approach.
  • Candidates will be reliable, solution-oriented, and meet deadlines.
  • Capacity to, independently and as part of a team, plan, organize and prioritize work, while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer proficiency and accuracy, keyboard skills, data entry skills, and experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). 
  • Ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve practical problems and successfully manage a variety of variables and personalities; ability to adapt in a changing environment.
  • Girl Scout experience is a plus but not required

 Work Environment: This position is outdoors, lifting heavy cases of cookies and subject to cold, wet weather for extended periods of time. Appropriate dress for various winter weather conditions is necessary. This role requires prolonged periods of standing and moving/lifting cases of cookies.

 Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and be able to move and pack cases of cookies to assist volunteers, families, and staff with loading and unloading cars, vans, and storage areas, indoors and out.
