We are currently seeking an HR Generalist at our Lincoln Nebraska facility.

Overview

The Human Resources Generalist will support the HRBP and the business by acting as a liaison between the operations staff and management in the areas of HR.  They will help administer HR programs, practices and procedures for all levels of people and provide feedback from the areas supported on HR programs. The Human Resource Generalist will support the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering benefits, leaves of absences, ADP administration and report creation, and enforcing company policies. 

Responsibilities

    Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

    Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

    Manages and implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.

    Responds to employee relations issues, conducts thorough and timely investigations (complaints, conflicts with supervision, harassment allegations, discrimination allegations, handling grievances, etc.) 

    Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring to complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

    Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

    Responsible for maintaining current and complete personnel files

    Assists in recruiting for open positions, arranging interviews with hiring managers for open positions; collaborates with department supervisors/managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings 

    Works with Human Resource Director, HRBP and Training Manager Coordinator to create, train, and track progress of training for all personnel

    Data entry of information into the HRIS system.  Prepares reports and maintains accurate records.  Reviews manager and employee transactions for accuracy and process per workflow guidelines.  Reviews manager and employee transactions for accuracy and process per workflow guidelines.  

    Assist with department audits to ensure compliance and consistency of Company and Government (Federal and State) requirements and policies, ensure regulatory compliance such as FMLA, ADA, EEOC. 

    Assist in coordination and implementation of wellness program and company events

    Attends client department meetings to give HR updates and receive updates on operational changes 

    Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Strong knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including employee relations, diversity, performance management, compensation, employment laws etc. 

    Thorough internal investigative skills and ability to make recommendations in accordance with established policies and experience with progressive discipline on performance or attendance issues. 

    Effective collaboration skills and ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally & externally. 

    Strong and effective verbal / written communication and literacy. 

    Strong change management and process improvement skills. 

    Strong working knowledge of MS Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and familiarity of ADP database. 

    High level of attention to detail, accuracy, effective analytical and problem-solving skills; strategical thinker 

    Excellent organizational and time management skills 

    Ability to effectively prioritize tasks including resolving complaints, counseling supervisors, team leads, and employees on the interpretation of policies. 

    Ability to identify problems, root causes and drive valuable solutions. 

    Ability to use discretion and sensitivity of confidential information. 

    Ability to apply unbiased judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job. 

    Ability to work in a fast paced and rapid growing environment 

    Flexibility with work hours / days as needed on 2nd and 3rd shift. 

Credentials and Experience

    3 plus years of proven progressive HR experience preferably within a high-volume manufacturing environment.

    Associate Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred.

    HR related certification desired, SHRM preferred 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

    Ability to sit up for 8 hours or more per day with occasional standing/walking

    Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities

Requirements:

Transportation

    Must have reliable vehicle.

    Must have a valid Nebraska driver’s license

Work Schedule

This full-time HR Generalist position primarily works Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  To effectively support our diverse workforce, the ability to work flexible hours, including evening and night shifts (5:00 PM – 6:00 AM), is essential to attend early/late on-site meetings, and address occasional weekend needs.
