PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Responsible for the processing of mortgage loan applications (including first and second mortgage real estate loans, home equity lines of credit/loans, construction loans and land loans) to closing in accordance with established policies and procedures. Establishes loan files and orders documentation required to process loans. Accountable for accuracy and completeness of all loan documentation and for processing loans. 


DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Process mortgage loan applications fully utilizing the automated underwriting tools and processing software programs available to you and work closely with Loan Officer throughout process to obtain any necessary information or documents in a timely manner.

2. Process mortgage loan applications to closing in accordance with conditions of automated underwriting findings and established policies and procedures. This may include ordering credit reports, processing various asset, liability and employment verifications, requesting a property appraisal, requesting inspections and other information or documentation as deemed necessary. 

3. Ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations throughout the application process.

4. Maintain accurate status dates for applications and documents on processing software to generate periodic reports of processing status. Utilize reporting function of processing software to process applications in the most timely and efficient manner.

5. Monitor and ensure completeness and accuracy of file documents and verifications.

6. Establish and organize loan files in a manner consistent with loan policies, readying files for review by approval authority.

7. Process and review all conditions received for applicant and verify data is correct and meets FNMA guidelines.

8. Accurately update the Mortgagebot mortgage system with applicant(s) information.

9. Ensure that mortgage files are thoroughly prepared prior to being given to the closing department.

10. Submit files to PMI companies, as needed

11. Speak with members in a professional manner to obtain required documentation.

12. Stay current on job-related equipment, procedures and/or information by reading handouts/memos, attending meetings and seminars and other necessary means.

13. Adhere to all applicable Credit Union policies, procedures and regulations.

14.  Participate in special projects and community activities, as needed.

15.  All other duties and responsibilities as directed


Pay Range: $20.56 - $26.47 per hour commensurate with experience  

Hybrid Work Arrangement: This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with a combination of in office and remote days following an initial training period in office. 

Requirements

PREREQUISITES:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience:  1 to 3 years of job-related experience in a mortgage lending environment.

Skills: Ability to do detailed work; ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment; skilled in the use of general office machines and computers; ability interact professionally face-to-face, on the telephone and through electronic means; basic PC skills in Microsoft Word/Outlook. Knowledge of FNMA guidelines

Traits: Work well with others in a team-oriented environment; ability to exercise judgement and make decisions or recommendations; dependable and loyal; self-starter who is willing to take initiative, innovate and be creative to improve departmental operation and member service.
