Overview
The Career Development Specialist uses project management and people development skills to lead the delivery of a portfolio of training, student, career exploration and employment programs to help grow and meet the workforce needs of Dartmouth Health (DH). Specialists work in a fast-paced environment that requires creativity, flexibility, initiative, adaptability, attention to detail, collaboration and communication skills. Specialists are responsible for the coordination, delivery and expansion of training and/or experiential work and learning programs for students through the DH Center for Career Development, including its Department of Education licensed career school. . This includes department outreach, program planning, developing and tracking project plans, marketing and promotion, candidate or student recruitment, hiring, onboarding and monitoring. A Specialist is responsible for recordkeeping in accordance with the Department of Labor, Department of Education or other partners, monitoring competency reporting; teaching professional development sessions and regularly meeting one-on-one with program participants to monitor progress and provide coaching. The Workforce Development department’s team mission is to develop a sustainable qualified and engaged workforce who can bring the skills, commitment and values that Dartmouth Health needs to provide the best patient care. The ability to research, share findings, make recommendations and quickly incorporate feedback and input is considered an essential quality of each team member.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in a related field such as training delivery, healthcare administration or operations, human resources or project management or equivalent in education and experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving experience.
- Demonstrated capacity for self-directed performance.
- Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and to collaborate effectively with a team.
- Ability to relate effectively and support diverse groups of program participants and professional learners
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Familiarity with educational and project management software preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Independent critical thinking and judgment skills
- Customer-first philosophy and approach to handling/resolving issues
- Familiarity with budgets and ROI reporting preferred.
