Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Inspects and tests plastic plates, bowls, and other containers to assure proper quality and strength. Works 12-hour shift.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
Audits product. Visually inspects random stacks of product in the staging area. May remove shrink wrap or lift a box lid or gaylord panel (corrugated box) from a stack to inspect the product. Counts product in stacks to assure proper count. Uses scan gun to scan product into the system. Randomly removes product for further testing in the Q.A. lab.
Uses computerized system to generate certificate of analyses sheet for quality assurance and tracking of product.
Moisture tests dryers. Places protected hand to the product and collects a sample of the plastic after leaving the dryer hopper. The plastic is analyzed for moisture content in the lab.
Performs differential scanning of calorimeter (D.S.C.) Re-melts a sample of the product and places a small sample into a tray and places into the D.S.C. for analyses.
Performs startup inspections. Performs audit inspections of product after startup of line with a different product. Performs operation of forklift to move pallets of product. Closely checks product to assure proper tooling.
Makes product labels. Feeds roll of labels into machine for printing. formation into computer. Takes completed labels to the Lead Packers.
