Summary
This position provides an opportunity to build a career within an exciting market of the insurance industry. We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced, self-starter to join our Underwriting Team. This candidate will be integral to the overall management of our underwriting procedure, from preliminary review of informal risks to underwriting negotiations with multiple life and disability insurance carriers. The position demands a high level of resourcefulness, effective communication, persuasion, and the ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations. Underwriters excel in complex problem-solving and the development of interpersonal relations, driving results while adapting to various circumstances, ensuring the organization's goals are met efficiently and effectively. This position will report to the Vice President(s) of Case Management.
Essential Functions
- Collaborate with advisors, case managers, and carrier underwriters to execute swift underwriting decisions.
- Collaborate with the sales force to help determine the goal of the case from an underwriting standpoint.
- Executing shopping of life market to assess the best underwriting offer.
- Routinely reviewing medical documentation (APS, insurance exam) and client comments to ensure the case remains on track as initially quoted.
- Must be familiar with various carriers’ underwriting procedures and policies.
- Must be familiar with life insurance underwriting manuals, such as Swiss RE.
- Lead negotiations with carrier underwriters on behalf of advisors and clients to secure favorable terms
- Manage the reconsideration process for cases that require future negotiation due to initial underwriting decisions
- Work with sales and case management departments by providing messaging on an adversely underwritten file.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience required

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position may require additional hours to meet goals.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Pay Details:
The base compensation range for this position is $125,000 - $175,000. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.Acrisure is committed to employing a diverse workforce.
