Here are a few reasons why we think you’d love working here:

2. Reach, Scale & Impact: More than ever, Disney’s technology and products serve as a signature doorway for fans' connections with the company’s brands and stories. Disney+. Hulu. ESPN. ABC. ABC News…and many more. These products and brands – and the unmatched stories, storytellers, and events they carry – matter to millions of people globally.

3. Innovation: We develop and implement groundbreaking products and techniques that shape industry norms, and solve complex and distinctive technical problems.

Content Platforms & Operations

The global team also plays a critical role as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney’s EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams.

Job Summary:

  • The Log Administrator is responsible for daily for creating and updating program telecast schedules and their associated Television Network Broadcast logs for all linear network program feeds for the east, west and pacific regions
  • Create, input and manage broadcast program schedule data (primary and secondary events) in the OnAir Traffic system, which feeds the automation and e-log systems.
  • Oversight and accountability for accurately prepared telecast schedules as well as all critical operations, instructions and metadata appearing in the broadcast logs; provide support in the deadline pressure environment of the Woodlands and Bristol by overseeing the air updates and finalizing on-line traffic schedules feeding automation
  • Input critical routing and channel switching information and instructions for all 3 regional feeds, special feeds, sectional and regionalized commercials and promotion; collaborate with the Woodlands and Resource Scheduling team to ensure accurate outgoing program feeds are directed to the correct destinations
  • Coordination with various departments including but not limited to The Woodlands, Bristol, Media Strategy & Planning, Content Prep, Program Managers, Sales/ESPN Sales, Resource Scheduling, Affiliate Relations & Scheduling to ensure information in the OnAir system is correctly transmitted to the downstream mission critical systems (automation, VOD, AsRun files, etc.) relying on this data
  • Work shift schedules, including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Frame accurately manipulate/prepare telecast (i.e. program) schedules in the integrated OnAir Traffic, Log & Billing application so that the direct BXF communication to the Cloud based automation system does not require manual intervention prior to air.
  • Ensure that events (primary and secondary) are correctly scheduled, the correct program media is applied, and that each program is adjusted frame accurately so that it ‘runs to time’ ensuring that resulting automation playlists execute without error.
  • The tasks related to the preparation of frame accurate schedule preparation are very detailed and must be performed in specific sequences.

  • As new business requirements and supporting products, applications and technical integrations continue to be vetted and developed Administrators will assist various teams (i.e. IT support, vendor, Operations) with system tests and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Part of the team that creates the daily TV Network Broadcast Schedule/Logs for all three time zone feeds (East, Mountain, and West) daily.
  • Input all pertinent information as well as air critical instructions (signal routing switches for air, server input sources and delay times) in the broadcast logs to ensure the correct air feed distribution to network affiliates.
  • Ensure data entered in OnAir is correctly represented in both the printed (limited) as well the ABC eLog (electronic Log) application.
  • The log preparation process requires the interpretation and understanding of a myriad of operational policies, so that they are correctly represented in the OnAir system, which feeds the Logs (i.e. ABC elog application).
  • Because of the fluid nature of broadcast operations, they must be able to react and then appropriately deviate from SOPs almost on daily basis (including during non-business hours) as the programming, commercial, promo, and graphic content and control room/facilities scheduling changes dictate.
  • Apply various system and broadcast related attributes (i.e.  live record indicators/instructions, reconcile indicator, v-chip, Net ID, etc.) to each telecast schedule so that all actionable downstream systems and applications execute correctly.
  • Responsible for determining, based on various ground rules and scenarios, and then applying accurate ‘start modes’ to each content event to ensure that the resulting automation playlists air correctly.
  • They are required to coordinate on a daily basis with business partners who input data (i.e. formats, commercials and promotion) into the integrated OnAir Traffic Log and Billing system to ensure that the schedule information accurately episode/program formats as well as apply the appropriate operational related log information when late scheduling changes are made (i.e. Sectional/regional commercial and/or promo content) which could happen as late as hours before air.
