POSITION DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, the Quality Inspector is responsible for verifying incoming products against specified sets of quality requirements. The ideal candidate will exercise their strong organizational skills, coupled with their high attention to detail and apply it toward quality driven reporting and record keeping. The Quality Inspector will utilize both their qualitative and quantitative skills, while exhibiting a strong working knowledge of mechanical principles in their daily operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure quality of manufactured goods by comparing incoming part dimensions against Solve or customer drawings for accuracy
- Perform quality tests using the appropriate instruments and equipment to gauge pass/fail grades of products, and record results accordingly
- Consistent communication with the Engineering Leadership about possible quality issues, and/or trends
- Comply with various ISO operating procedures and work instructions
- Process associated documentation for rework or non-conforming products
- Validate and process all RMA’s (Return Merchandise Authorization)
- High School Degree or equivalent
- 2+ years related experience and/or training
- Ability to lift/push/pull 50 lbs.
- Ability to use basic hand tools
- Solid understanding of GD&T with working experience in the use of measuring equipment and instruments
- Experience working in the bearings or power transmission industry
- General understanding of PPAP process
- Experience operating forklift
