TITLE:                                                           HR ASSISTANT/BENEFITS COORDINATOR
IMMEDIATE SUPERSOR:                        HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR
CONTROLLING SUPPERVISOR:           CHAIR
STATUS:                                                       REGULAR/FULL TIME
LOCATION:                                                 KAW CITY, OK
SALARY RANGE:                                      $15.00 - $18.00

QUALIFICATIONS:
An associated Degree in Management, Business, or related field and 1 year Employment Verification experience in Human Resources or a high school diploma/GED and Vocational training or trade school with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Human Resources. Knowledge of Human Resource concepts and employment laws is preferred. Experience may be subsisted for educational requirements.  Must possess a valid driver license and be insurable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assist the Human Resource Director with the day-to-day operations of the department.
  2. Responsible for establishing, organizing and maintaining files and documentation for the department.
  3. Process payroll for the Tribal Administration and Gaming Commission employees.
  4. Ensure employees’ accrued annual leave accruement is maintained properly.
  5. Assist in completing reports as required.
  6. Insure strict confidentiality of all personnel records.
  7. Complete timesheets for payroll processing ensuring all coordinating paperwork is submitted to payroll timely.
  8. Process all incoming/outgoing mail including mail records as needed.
  9. Serve as liaison between Kaw Nation and insurance benefit providers.
  10. Audit monthly employee insurance billing statements.
  11. Process insurance enrollment for eligible employees.
  12. Coordinate annual open enrollment processes.
  13. Ensure compliance with Kaw Nation employee policies and Federal employment laws including, but not limited to, COBRA, HIPPA, and FMLA.
  14. Assist HRD in performing background screening and new employee orientation, and in-house training sessions.
  15. Assist with any Worker’s Comp claims.
  16. Ensure all reports are filled out and processed with new hires or resignation names.
  17. Work with Emergency Manager on the Employee Emergency List.
  18. Other duties as assigned by HRD, Executive Director or Tribal Chair.
