About the Department
Columbia Basin College ("CBC" or the "College") seeks a Program Coordinator to develop and deliver career guidance services, including workshops, presentations, and coaching for students and alumni. This position will collaborate with faculty, staff, and institutional partners to support career initiatives and ensure students are prepared for employment and internships during and after college. This position reports to the Director for Career Services.

Position Duties
- Deliver proactive one-on-one and small group career coaching, empowering students with resumes, cover letters, interview skills, networking, pay negotiation, and job search strategies;
- Guide students in career exploration, goal setting, and internship and job applications, helping them uncover opportunities and craft personalized strategies for success;
- Design and facilitate engaging workshops and presentations that strengthen professional readiness and adapt to diverse learning styles;
- Plan and execute career events, including job fairs, networking sessions, employer panels, and experiential learning opportunities that connect students to real-world opportunities;
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and departments to integrate career readiness, share workforce trends, and create new opportunities for student growth;
- Build and maintain relationships with employers, alumni, and community partners to expand internships, jobs, and networking pathways for students;
- Maintain and innovate career resources, both digital and print, ensuring students have timely and relevant tools to succeed;
- Track, assess, and report program effectiveness, using data to improve student outcomes and optimize services;
- Represent Career Services at campus and community events, advocating for students, fostering connections, and increasing visibility of resources; and
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent education from an institutionally accredited college or university;
- Two (2) years’ experience in career or academic coaching, youth development, students services, training facilitation, workforce development, K-12 education, or related areas;
- Possession of a valid U.S. driver's license or ability to obtain one before date of hire; and
- Ability to obtain Food Worker’s Card within 90-days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an institutionally accredited college or university;
- Experience with Handshake; and
- Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.

Other Qualifications
This position is a full-time classified staff position. The position is overtime eligible and the typical work hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; however, must be available to work a flexible schedule when prior notice is given by the College. This position is available immediately.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility including having the ability to move materials on a regular basis such as files, books, office equipment, etc. and move between buildings on campus. Manual dexterity and coordination are required to operate equipment such as computer keyboard, calculator, and standard office equipment.
Working Conditions
Usual office working conditions. The noise level in the work area is typical of most office environments with telephones, personal interruptions, and background noises.
