$19.29 to $21.22 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Cocoa. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs skilled office and clerical work for the Transit Services Department. Work requires a basic knowledge of the office operation and includes significant internal and external high-level contacts. Emphasis is placed upon dealing with highly political, confidential, and diplomatic matters requiring extreme tact and poise. May supervise other clerical staff.
REQUIREMENTS: Two (2) years of general clerical experience PLUS two (2) years of responsible, independent secretarial work that includes experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or other similar software; OR one (1) year of experience as a Brevard County Secretary. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must pass the Brevard County typing test at 45 correct words per minute. Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
