ASU Gammage is seeking several part-time assistant event coordinators to provide support to operations at events taking place at ASU Gammage, ASU Desert Financial Arena and other facilities on and off campus as needed. This position reports to the Event Coordinator. There are no set hours since this position is event based. It is part time, hourly and requires a flexible work schedule to accommodate night, weekend and/or holiday events.
Essential Duties:
- Work pre, post and during events to assist with the facilitation of operations and respond to emergencies, problems, etc.; ensures assigned aspects of events are implemented and controlled according to approved plans. This includes, working parking detail, setting up tables and chairs and monitoring cooling and heating devices during outdoor events.
- Assist users of facilities by providing requirements in regard to technical, security and/or other event related needs; assist in problem resolution and answer questions; refer to appropriate department when unable to respond.
- Perform event prep work by communicating with facility users in writing and track and file communication as well as event paperwork.
- Create, file and maintain records on event activities, their progress, or status.
- Coordinate duties of assigned areas with activities of other staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate procedures and specifications.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
- Skill in facilitating events.
- Skill in public relations and handling complaints
- Knowledge of scheduling; box office operations; and contract administration.
- Evidence of effective communication skills.
- Experience using all Microsoft applications to create and maintain files.
- Ability to work flexible hours for events scheduled on evenings and weekends
- Drive on university business and possess a Class D driver license upon employment.
Working Environment:
- Ability to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to climb numerous sets of stairs in one shift.
- Proficient computer skills with an emphasis on spreadsheets and document preparation.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Drive a vehicle on university business.
Wage:
$20.75 per hour
