Description
This position is focused on supporting both Human Resources and Safety functions within YDG and handling the daily functions of the Human Resources Department to promote a safe, compliant, and supportive workplace environment.
- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs and initiatives.
- Manage recruiting efforts including job postings, interview coordination, onboarding, and orientation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HRIS systems.
- Assist in administering employee benefits and leave programs (FMLA, STD, etc.)
- Help coordinate employee recognition programs and internal communications.
- Schedule and coordinate required safety training and certifications.
- Participate in safety audits and support corrective actions as needed.
- Track and report safety metrics and assist with root cause analysis of incidents.
- Help distribute HR and Safety communications.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and support PPE inventory tracking.
- Assist with employment relations matters, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Foster working relationships with area staffing agencies for distribution and manufacturing staff alongside department managers and supervisors.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal labor laws and company policies.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Assist with wellness initiatives and activities.
Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years of experience in Human Resources, Safety, or administrative support (manufacturing or industrial setting preferred)
- Knowledge of employment law and OSHA safety regulations
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS or timekeeping systems a plus
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
