Reports To: Fort Carson Project Manager


Shift:  Monday - Friday, 11:30 am to 8:00 pm 



  

SERVICE PHILOSOPHY

SUMMARY

The Fort Carson Lead Custodian (“Lead”) supports work performed under the authority of the Fort Carson custodial contract (“contract”) by performing custodial services, providing transportation, oversight, eand nsuring that adequate cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment are available. The Lead works alongside co-workers, including individuals served. 

Requirements

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Oversight

o Lead assigned coworkers in performing required duties

o Ensure compliance with contract requirements and as per instructions from the Fort Carson Project Manager and Fort Carson Assistant Project Manager

o Provide on-site instruction in cleaning techniques

o Ensure that materials, supplies, and equipment are present and available in proper locations and proper times as directed

o Ensure that co-workers, including individuals served, complete work as required and within expected timeframes

o Review and follow all Safety Data Sheets (“SDS”) and communicate warnings and hazards as necessary

o Complete initial quality control inspection and redirect co-workers as necessary to ensure quality standards are met

· Transportation

o Drive PDI vehicles as required to transport self, co-workers, materials, supplies, and equipment to a specific location

o Closely follow all PDI and customer-specific driving rules, policies, and regulations

· Safety

o Follow procedures and direct others in the safe use of chemical cleaners and power equipment

o Follow safety procedures to check electrical appliances and equipment before use

o Notify supervisor with recommendations about equipment repair and replacement

o Monitor the activities of co-workers, including individuals served, to ensure that all safety rules and policies are consistently followed

· Custodial

o Mix and prepare cleaning solutions according to manufacturer specifications and PDI safety guidelines

o Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes the floor

o Cleans rugs, carpet,s and upholstered furniture

o Dusts furniture and equipment

o Polishes metalwork

o Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork

o Washes windows, door panel,s and sills

o Empties wastebaskets

o Transports trash and waste to the disposal area

o Replenishes bathroom supplies

o Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways and office space

o Transports small equipment or tools between departments

o Sets up tables and chairs in the lunchroom, work centers, and other areas as required


  

 

Job Summary: Lead (Custodial Role)

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No formal supervision dutie,s but provides direction to coworkers and individuals served.
     

Qualifications Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
     
  • 1 year of custodial experience
     
  • Age 21+
     
  • Valid driver’s license
     
  • Pass background and drug screening
     
  • Approved by the insurance carrier
     
  • Complete First Aid and other certifications
     

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree
     
  • Experience with individuals with disabilities
     
  • 1 year in a supervisory or lead role
     

Skills & Abilities

  • Math: Ability to perform basic algebra, geometry, and common calculations
     
  • Computer: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Internet, and basic office equipment
     
  • Reasoning: Solve practical problems with limited standardization; interpret various instructions
     

Work Environment

  • Located at Fort Carson, Colorado (customer site)
     
  • Exposure to outdoor weather, fumes, chemicals, and moderate to loud noise
     
  • Reasonable accommodations provided for disabilities
     

Schedule & Physical Demands

  • Type: Full-time, non-exempt
     
  • Schedule: Primarily Monday–Friday; evenings, weekends, holidays as needed
     
  • Physical:
     
    • Regular lifting up to 50 lbs, occasionally up to 100 lbs
       
    • Requires walking, standing, kneeling, climbing, and other physical tasks
       
    • Vision and hearing requirements apply
       

Travel

  • Occasional travel within 50 miles of the work site
