We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Application Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing both on-premise and cloud-based enterprise applications and systems to ensure high availability, performance, and security. As a System Application Administrator, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions, provide troubleshooting support, and manage system configurations across diverse environments. You will also be tasked with overseeing system upgrades, patches, and performing regular system health checks to ensure optimal operation in both on-premise and cloud environments.

The annual base salary range for this position, is $65,000 - $89,000.  The actual salary offered will vary based on applicant’s relevant skills, education, experience, certifications and geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.

This position is located in Syracuse, NY or Norcross, GA and requires onsite work.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide technical support for both non-production and production environments, including issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with vendors and software companies. Address technical questions on application, database, server and security configurations. 
  • Work with technical and functional teams for application support, system integrations and security administration. Monitor environments, collaborate on performance tuning, manage code migrations, builds, testing and implementation. Apply patches and deliver application upgrades.
  • Participate in team retrospectives focusing on continuous improvement. Identify and recommend enhancements, logs and completes application administration requests to improve system solutions. 
  • Share knowledge provides cross-training and peer support. Participate in estimating and planning future application administration tasks.
  • Update application administration and end-user documentation and procedures for applications, databases, servers and security.
  • Update technical documentation for use by admin or support teams, guided by senior application administrators. 
  • Participate in testing new applications, integrations, systems, solutions and upgrades. 
  • Adhere to best practice application administration and change management procedures.
  • Contribute to system projects or enhancements by completing assigned tasks in alignment with project plans and estimates.
  • Support end-user community consisting of operations, warehouse as well as office-based employees with varying degrees of skillsets. 
  • Participate in after-hours, on-call rotations as needed.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in application support and troubleshooting.
  • 4 years' experience supporting cloud and on-premises applications.
  • 4 years' experience with multi-tier applications employing application and web servers.
  • Application interface, design and relational database technologies experience preferred.
  • Experience with project management from planning through implementation preferred.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the following core technologies: basic networking, Microsoft Windows, Unix/Linux and Oracle.
  • Exhibit strong teamwork, interpersonal and customer service skills. 
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, while demonstrating strong attention to detail and appreciation of deadlines. 
  • Manual dexterity required. Must be able to use basic hand tools, disassemble and reassemble computer hardware, and lift to 25 lbs. occasionally without assistance.

The annual base salary range for this position, is $65,000 - $85,000.  The actual salary offered will vary based on applicant’s relevant skills, education, experience, certifications and geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.
