Skills and Competencies

  • Full-Stack Development: Required is proficiency in both front-end (Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and back-end (Java, Spring, Hibernate) development to build and maintain web applications.
  • 1-3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Software Design Principles: Required is a solid understanding of Object-Oriented design and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) for developing scalable, multi-tiered enterprise applications.
  • Database Knowledge: Required is foundational knowledge of relational (e.g., SQL, Oracle) and/or NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases to contribute to the data layer of applications.
  • DevOps & Build Tools: Required is experience with build/dependency management tools (e.g., Maven) and familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to support modern development practices.
    Business Acumen: Desired is experience in a regulated environment, such as financial services, to understand and adhere to industry-specific requirements.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; a Master's degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance web applications, collaborating on UI, services, and databases within a service-oriented architecture.
    Front-End & Back-End Development: Design, develop, and test new features for web applications using Angular, Java, and related frameworks (Spring, Hibernate), ensuring high-quality and robust code.
  • Collaboration & Design: Collaborate with Lead Engineers and internal users to define system requirements, contribute to technical design discussions, and align with architectural direction.
  • Database & Integration: Work on database components (SQL, NoSQL) and integrate various services within a multi-tiered, service-oriented architecture, utilizing build and dependency management tools.

 

About The Team
You will be part of a dynamic software engineering team focused on building and enhancing key web applications. The team works in a collaborative environment, closely partnering with business stakeholders and lead engineers to deliver innovative solutions based on a modern, service-oriented architecture. This is a hybrid role, requiring a presence in the Charlotte office 2 days per week.

 

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $78,000.00 - $113,100.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
