Are you looking for a new challenge in an advancing technical environment? Do you want to make an impact with a reputable organization? Winnebago Motorhome is seeking a Senior Connectivity Integration Engineer to join our team. This role may be based in either Forest City, IA or Eden Prairie, MN with travel to Forest City. The Senior Connectivity Integration Engineer will be the Swiss Army knife of our small, nimble Connect team—partnering closely with the Winnebago Connect product manager, and Lead Systems Engineer to bring supplier provided telematics components into our Winnebago Connect ecosystem. From hands on lab work to supplier qualification and firmware/configuration updates, you’ll wear multiple hats in a fast moving, start-up style environment.

Day to Day of the Role:

Supplier Integration & Compliance:

  • Partner with hardware suppliers to vet CAN/RV C compatible modules (ECUs, sensors, gateways).
  • Ensure components meet RV C standards and Winnebago Connect interface specs.

Firmware & Configuration Management:

  • Load, update, and validate firmware and configuration files on test units.
  • Troubleshoot firmware level issues across CAN J1939, CAN FD, and Ethernet AVB networks.

Lab Test & Validation:

  • Design and execute integration tests (functional, EMC/ESD, environmental).
  • Capture and analyze bus traffic (Vector CANalyzer, oscilloscopes) and report anomalies.

Systems Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose end to end system issues: hardware, firmware, network layers, and cloud connectivity.
  • Collaborate with firmware developers and cloud team to resolve field found defects.

Cost & Technology Research:

  • Evaluate alternative components for cost, performance, and supply chain resilience.
  • Prototype and bench test new modules to validate fit within our ecosystem.

Enterprise Sourcing Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Enterprise Sourcing to define and standardize IoT connectivity requirements.
  • Embed connectivity standards into supplier agreements and drive compliance through contract terms.

Cross Functional Collaboration:

  • Work with EE, mechanical, and test automation teams to refine integration processes.
  • Support supplier audits, design reviews, and DVT/EVT cycles per project milestones.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Embedded Connectivity Experience:
  • 5+ years working with C/C++ firmware on microcontrollers.
  • Deep hands-on experience with CAN protocols (J1939, CAN Open) and TCP/IP/Ethernet stacks.
  • Skilled with bench equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies).
  • Experience writing or executing automated test scripts (LabVIEW, Python).
  • Proven track record specifying, qualifying, and debugging supplier provided modules.
  • Familiarity with RV C or similar upper layer standards is highly desirable.
  • Startup mentality: agile, resourceful, thrives in a “wear many hats” culture.
  • Excellent communicator—able to translate technical issues between suppliers, systems, and software teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior RV industry (RVC) or off highway vehicle experience.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity/CAN bus security principles.
  • Experience with over the air (OTA) firmware update pipelines.
