Position Title: Human Resource Clerk

Hourly Rate: $19.00 - $20.00/hour (depending on experience).
Pay Grade: 41
Schedule: 40 hours/week; Monday - Friday; 12 month calendar. Benefits offered. Arizona State Retirement System eligible.
Position Posting and Information: This position plays a key role in supporting HR operations by processing employee records, maintaining accurate files, assisting with onboarding, and providing excellent customer service to staff and the community. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, attentive to detail, and able to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Summary of Function
The HR Clerk is an entry-level professional in the HR department who provides essential administrative and clerical support to help HR operations run smoothly. Responsibilities include maintaining employee records, managing recruitment logistics, assisting with payroll-related tasks, and serving as a helpful point of contact for employees and applicants
QUALIFICATIONS: - High School Diploma or equivalent certification - required
- At least 3 years prior experience in a customer service role, with HR experience preferred
- Ability to deal effectively and positively with customers
- Previous experinece in a high-standard customer service environment preferred
- Must be able to multi-task in a high traffic environment
- Ability to use technology relevant to the position including Google and Microsoft Office Suites
- Bilingual preferred
TYPICAL TASKS: Prepare and post job advertisements; update postings on internal and external job boards.
Coordinate candidate scheduling, interview logistics, and communication with applicants.
Assist with screening applications and maintaining applicant tracking systems.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel records, including attendance, leave balances, and employment changes.
Process new hire paperwork and assist with employee onboarding, including preparing orientation materials.
Support payroll preparation by collecting attendance records, verifying time sheets, and entering data.
Handle HR-related correspondence, document filing, scanning, and distribution.
Respond to employee inquiries and route sensitive issues appropriately.
Prepare reports from HR databases and compile personnel data for management review.
Provide front desk coverage for the HR office, greeting visitors and directing calls.
Monitor and ensure compliance with employment documentation requirements.
Manage fingerprinting process for staff, including scheduling, processing, and maintaining compliance records.
Coordinate background checks for new hires and ensure timely follow-up on clearance status.
Support the volunteer program by assisting with applications, tracking required documentation, processing clearances, and maintaining volunteer records.
Assist with compliance tracking for required certifications, licenses, and training.
Perform other HR administrative support duties as assigned.
