Associate Specialist, VDC Detailer

The position of Detailing Specialist I is to assist increating and organizing installation documents and basic take-offs for projectswithin the specified schedule under direct supervision. The specialist willwork closely with the detailing team, supervisor, project managers, and fieldsupervisors to support the layout of electrical components for projects. Thisrole provides exposure to coordination with other Mechanical, Electrical, andPlumbing (MEP) trade partners and offers opportunities to learn drafting,detailing, and construction software.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing 2D drawings and layouts for electrical work on construction projects.
• Support project teams by helping complete counts, take-offs, or spreadsheets as directed.
• Provide draft installation drawings and material counts to project teams under supervision.
• Learn and begin using Revit, Bluebeam, and other platforms for layout and coordination.
• Support the coordination of project drawings with other trades.
• Maintain accurate records of drawings, schedules, and project files.
• Learn to create 2D drawings for prefabrication, one-lines, layouts, and as-builts as directed.
• Assist in updating project files, kitting sheets, and counts.
• Participate in training sessions and apply feedback to grow detailing skills.
• Work in a collaborative, team-based environment to support project needs.

Requirements:

• High attention to detail and a strong desire to learn electrical detailing.
• Interest in construction technology and translating blueprints into field installations.
• Associates degree in Construction Technology or related field preferred, but not required.
• 0–2 years of experience in the electrical trade or construction industry (internships, field experience, or coursework welcomed).
• Exposure to or willingness to learn software such as Revit, Autodesk Suite, BIM 360, and Bluebeam.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, OneDrive).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
