SHIFT: 1st Shift Monday-Thursday 7pm-7am
About the Role:
We’re looking for a hands-on, motivated Working Production Lead to join our team. In this role, you’ll not only lead and guide production staff but also work alongside them on the production floor to ensure daily goals are met safely and efficiently. The Production Lead will also be instrumental in identifying areas for process improvement and implementing best practices to enhance productivity. By fostering a collaborative work environment, the Production Lead will motivate team members to achieve their full potential while meeting production deadlines. Ultimately, this role is essential for driving operational excellence and contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities:
- Perform production tasks while supervising and supporting the production team and daily production needs to ensure optimal performance.
- Assign daily production responsibilities and ensure workflow stays on schedule to meet changing demands and deadlines.
- Monitor team performance and provide training and coaching as needed to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and cleanliness.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments.
- Report production issues, equipment problems, or material needs promptly.
- Foster a team-oriented, productive work environment.
- Conduct regular quality checks and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a production role.
- Strong communication and team leadership skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, lift up to 50lbs, and handle physical tasks.
- Knowledge of ERP systems to include SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or other enterprise resource planning software (for logging production data, inventory tracking, etc.)
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality control standards and basic troubleshooting.
- Computer Proficiency to include typing and navigating operating systems (Windows/Mac), Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas, charts), Microsoft Word (report writing, work instructions) and Outlook (email communication, scheduling), Microsoft Teams.
- Experience with File management (saving, retrieving, organizing documents) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) used to monitor real-time production and performance
- Understanding of KPIs and how to track them digitally.
- Ability to analyze simple production or quality data in spreadsheets.
- Experience with creating or reviewing digital work orders, safety forms, or inspection checklists.
- Experience with troubleshooting minor tech issues on the floor (printers, scanners, etc.)
- Strong understanding of barcode scanning systems and inventory software along with basic understanding of databases or cloud-based systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
- Familiarity with production management software and tools.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
