CTG is seeking to fill a Full Stack Developer (Application Developer/Google Cloud Modernization) opening for our client in Bakersfield, CA.
Location: Bakersfield, CA
Duration: 10 months
Duties:
Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
Build and maintain scalable, resilient backend microservices based on 12-factor principles, exposing functionality through APIs and event-driven interfaces.
Develop rich, responsive UI applications using frameworks such as ReactJS or Angular.
Architect and implement containerized workloads, microservices-based modular designs, and serverless solutions.
Utilize event-driven architectures with tools such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Design and implement SQL and NoSQL database models tailored to business requirements.
Ensure solutions follow Agile methodologies with continuous integration, testing, and delivery pipelines.
Apply Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI/CD practices for efficient and secure releases.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals and modernization strategies.
Skills:
Proficiency in at least one backend runtime: Java 8+, GraalVM, Node.js, Python, or .NET.
Strong knowledge of Spring Boot (required); experience with frameworks such as Quarkus or Django is a plus.
Expertise in front-end frameworks: ReactJS or Angular.
Experience developing Progressive Web Applications (PWA) with single-page applications (SPA) and micro-frontends.
Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures.
Familiarity with event-driven applications and streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Zookeeper).
Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL database design.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps best practices.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in cloud-native environments.
Experience:
5+ years of full stack development experience, including both front-end and back-end application development.
3+ years of experience working in cloud-native environments (preferably GCP).
Demonstrated success designing and implementing microservices-based architectures.
Experience modernizing legacy applications into cloud-ready solutions.
Prior experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $54.00 to $63.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
