JOB OVERVIEW

 

The ACGME is currently seeking a Quality Analyst to help maintain the quality and integrity of data and contribute to data preparation and creation of technical reports.

 

The Department of Applications and Data Analysis is responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance of all data collection systems that deal with institutional and residency and fellowship program accreditation and outcomes. The department also provides project management, quality assurance testing, analytical reporting, and support for these data systems and data acquisition tools. Currently the department is taking a leadership role in the visual display of data and its use in accreditation.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the data team to assist in the maintenance and quality of data used in the annual review of institutions and residency and fellowship programs. 
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, models, and analytical methodologies.
  • Maintain and manage the QA and data catalog to ensure data assets are well-documented and easily accessible.
  • Work with the data team in the data preparation, reconciliation, reporting, and analytic tasks required to meet business needs and requirements. 
  • Assist in the implementation of testing strategies to ensure consistency among data collection sources, data warehouse database, reports, and dashboards. 
  • Identify root cause of data integrity issues and implement corrective action through strong partnerships with development team and database administrators. 
  • Understand existing applications and accreditation business rules to accurately QA databases and search for inconsistencies. 
  • Resolve issues by developing operational and technical solutions, follow-up with key players to ensure implementation, and address limitations as needed. 
  • Work with multiple large datasets (primarily SQL and SAS). 
  • Create ad hoc reports or data files in response to specific data inquiries. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Minimum 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, social sciences, public health, or research-related field, or equivalent experience required. 
  • At least two years of hands-on data quality experience required. 
  • Demonstrated experience using programming languages (SQL, SAS) to query and evaluate datasets; proficiency in Microsoft systems (Excel, Access, etc.) required.

 

Preferred 

 

  • Excellent problem solving and analytic skills and a proven track record of resolving data issues. 

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL SETS, AND ABILITIES

 

  • Outstanding attention to detail. 
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Must have advanced written and oral communication skills. 
  • Must be able to manage projects independently and prioritize tasks.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS

 

  • Position requires significant use of standard office equipment, such as a computer, keyboard, mouse, photocopier, fax machine, telephone, etc.
  • Will frequently be required to sit and work for extended periods of time at a computer terminal using various computer programs and other computer tools.
  • This position is situated in a normal office environment with no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands.  
  • Most of the work performed is normally done in the ACGME office and/or home office with the typical physical demands of an office environment.
