Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for a Senior Revit Designer with structural expertise to join our team. This can be a remote / work from home position for those living in the Continental United States; our preference, however, would be that the successful new hire works from any of our Continental US-based offices. As the successful new hire, you will create, analyze and optimize designs for a variety of projects using CAD / BIM software and other tools that support design/drafting workflows. You will work closely with other members of the team to create practical solutions and produce high-quality drawings that meet project needs. This is a senior designer position and as such, the position is expected to supervise/train CAD / BIM staff and troubleshoot design issues.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Create 3D models of various structures/installations and produce drawings using Revit
  • Create 2D drawings of various structural projects using Revit or AutoCAD
  • Manage the project CAD/BIM team
  • Review work product and ensure CAD team deliverables meet project schedules and budgets
  • Review engineering drawings to ensure adherence to established standards
  • Assist project team with organization, preparation and review of engineering drawing packages
  • Use Navisworks to perform clash detection between models from multiple consultants or internal team members

Qualifications:

  • Technical or Associate’s degree
  • 20+ years proven work experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • 7+ years proven work experience with Autodesk Revit
  • Knowledge of engineering design principles and construction methods
  • Understanding of civil site development and coordination between disciplines required
  • Knowledge of structural steel and concrete structures required with waterfront, heavy civil or industrial experience
  • Good analytical thinking, numeracy, computer, and problem-solving skills
  • 10+ years of successful staff management, supervision and training experience required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel advanced knowledge preferred)
  • Willingness and availability to travel on occasion may be required to a project site or office location
  • Due to client parameters, selected candidate must show (post offer) proof of U.S. citizenship and clear results of a thorough background check that may include but is not limited to credit and criminal history
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Base salary range: 

$103,000 to $125,000 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting the required qualifications in the job description. 

Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California, New York or Washington markets.  

Physical requirements:

Work is generally performed in an office setting, sitting for prolonged periods. The ability to use standard office equipment is required.  On occasion, travel may be required to a project site or other office.
