Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

In this role you will:

• Manage registration of all Sex Offenders who are required to register with the Police Department. Assist in compliance checks with Sex Offenders conducted twice a year
• Maintain statistical data on Crimes against Person and Property as well as Sex Offender and Violent Offenders data
• Maintain juvenile information such as arrest, referrals, and other data
• Review reports and enters all arrest information and UCR and NIBRS classification codes into the records management system
• Verify and validate entries listed on monthly Illinois Leads Validation provided by ISP
• Demonstrated ability to perform general administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and handling of incoming telephone calls and email correspondence in a professional and timely manner

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge, skills, and mental development equivalent to a high school diploma, with an associate’s degree or higher preferred. They will have a minimum of three (3) years of clerical experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and Outlook. The candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage emotions professionally when interacting with difficult individuals. The role requires successful completion of a background investigation, signing a departmental confidentiality statement, and obtaining LEADS Certification with Full LEADS Access. Availability to work weekends and holidays, as well as attendance at required training for the Illinois Uniform Crime Reporting System and NIBRS, is essential.
