Reporting To: Head of Delivery
Location: Remote [Hybrid York]

Position Overview

We’re looking for a pragmatic, delivery-focused AI Automation Manager to lead the discovery, planning, and execution of AI and automation across one of verse’s key accounts in the leisure and hospitality sector.

This is a hybrid strategic and hands-on role: you’ll own the automation roadmap, manage client engagement, and align delivery with commercial goals, while also directly building and maintaining automations, scripts, and API connections where appropriate.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Delivery, acting as the go-to expert for automation strategy and implementation. Your remit spans identifying inefficiencies, embedding AI across key workflows, and driving measurable performance improvements - particularly across Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and connected systems.

You’ll also have access to our AI platform, enabling you to embed secure AI solutions and integrate into customer workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Automation Strategy & Roadmap
    1. Own the roadmap for AI and automation on the account, aligned with wider delivery goals set by the Head of Delivery.
    2. Meet with client stakeholders on a fortnightly/regular basis to review recent discovery, discuss upcoming priorities, and gather input to shape the roadmap.
    3. Be the central point of accountability for automation planning, execution, and governance.
    4. Work with internal SMEs and client stakeholders to align automation initiatives with strategic and commercial outcomes.
  2. Solution Design & Delivery
    1. Prototype, build, and maintain automation workflows and scripts across:
      1. Email campaign workflows
      2. Content production and publishing (especially AEM)
      3. QA and testing processes
      4. Internal dashboards and reporting
    2. Connect APIs and data sources directly (e.g. via Python, JavaScript, or n8n), with developer support available for more complex builds.
    3. Maintain version control, documentation, and monitoring of live automations.
    4. Identify and unblock inefficiencies in delivery and operations.
    5. Monitor impact of deployments and continuously iterate solutions.
    6. Reduce manual workloads and increase speed, scale, and quality of delivery.
  3. Cross-Team Enablement
    1. Collaborate with delivery, production, creative, QA, and development teams to embed automation sustainably.
    2. Drive adoption and upskilling across the squad to maintain long-term capability.
    3. Support resourcing decisions by highlighting automation efficiencies and workload shifts.
  4. Technology & Platform Utilisation
    1. Maximise use of AEM and Adobe suite features, including personalisation, tagging, publishing automation, and asset reuse.
    2. Leverage AI platform capabilities to extend automation and AI functionality within delivery workflows.
    3. Write and adapt lightweight scripts and connectors across Adobe, content systems, and third-party APIs.
    4. Track performance and utilisation of automation tools and processes, reporting regularly to the Head of Delivery.
  5. Governance, Compliance & Risk
    1. Ensure automation solutions comply with client security, privacy, and ethical requirements.
    2. Establish clear usage guidelines and reporting lines for any third-party or open-source tools in use.
  6. R&D & Innovation
    1. Collaborate with our AI/Automation R&D department to pilot new tools and deploy proven AI models into daily delivery.
    2. Act as a feedback loop, identifying opportunities for internal productisation or refinement of AI prototypes.
    3. Clearly communicate automation opportunities and outcomes to client stakeholders in plain language, helping bridge technical ideas with business context.

Role Requirements

Experience & Technical Capability

  • Proven experience delivering AI and automation within enterprise content or digital environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar enterprise CMS workflows.
  • Hands-on experience building automations with workflow platforms (e.g. n8n, Make, Zapier, UiPath) and scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
  • Confident connecting APIs, handling authentication, and debugging automation workflows.
  • Experience using Git or similar version control to manage automation scripts and integrations.
  • Solid understanding of QA processes, campaign automation, and reporting tooling.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Confident working in a cross-functional team, including technical, delivery, and creative stakeholders.
  • Able to take ownership of automation solutions end-to-end — from roadmap definition through to hands-on build and deployment — while working closely with the Head of Delivery and squad leads.
  • Experience engaging senior client stakeholders and translating technical initiatives into commercial value.

Mindset & Approach

  • Pragmatic, delivery-first thinker with a bias for action.
  • Comfortable switching between big-picture strategy and detailed technical problem solving (e.g. debugging a failing script).
  • Balances innovation with process rigour and governance.
  • Strong ethical stance on AI use, especially around privacy and transparency.

What You’ll Gain

Direct influence over how AI and automation reshape delivery across high-profile UK hospitality brands.

A visible, impactful position at the forefront of operational AI adoption in the agency sector.
