We are currently seeking a Surveillance Dispatcher to join our Security Team. This role is critical to maintaining a safe and secure environment across the facility by monitoring surveillance systems and coordinating real-time security responses.
Position Summary
The Surveillance Dispatcher is responsible for operating and monitoring the facility’s security systems, including CCTV, alarm systems, and access control platforms. This individual acts as the first point of contact during security-related incidents and ensures timely, coordinated communication between internal teams and external emergency services. The role supports the safety of all personnel, property, and operations by ensuring surveillance activities adhere to company policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor live and recorded CCTV footage for suspicious activity, safety violations, or unauthorized access.
- Respond to incoming calls, radio traffic, and security alerts; dispatch on-site security personnel as needed.
- Maintain constant communication with security staff, facility supervisors, and other departments during incidents.
- Accurately document all security-related events and incidents in daily logs and incident reports.
- Operate access control systems: verify credentials, issue badges, and monitor personnel movements.
- Coordinate emergency responses for fire, medical, evacuation, or law enforcement situations.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure surveillance equipment is operational; report any malfunctions.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all surveillance footage and related data.
- Retrieve and provide surveillance footage to support internal investigations or legal inquiries.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Security Supervisor or Facility Operations Manager.
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of experience in surveillance, security dispatch, or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Typing speed of 35 or more words per minute
- Familiarity with surveillance systems, access control software, and two-way radios
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and situational awareness
- Ability to stay calm and act decisively under pressure
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Preferred:
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility
- Knowledge of security protocols and emergency response procedures
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and workplace security best practices
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or remain at a workstation for extended periods
- Manual dexterity to operate keyboards, radios, and surveillance equipment
- Visual acuity to monitor video screens and identify security events accurately
