JOB SUMMARY 

The Communications Specialist is responsible for strengthening North Risk's brand, story, and mission through the creation and distribution of content for internal and external audiences.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES

  • Using North Risk's brand voice, draft copy, and assets for North Risk's internal and external platforms
  • Write, distribute, and manage content on the firm's internal communication channels to support effective dissemination of news and culture initiatives companywide. Partner with leadership to communicate messages effectively
  • Create external marketing materials such as sales capabilities PowerPoints, RFPs, sales flyers, website landing pages, and more. Partner with sales leaders to ensure materials are relevant, supportive of sales initiatives, and updated on a regular basis 
  • Triage tickets from the Communications Department Work Request Form. Assess requests, scope the project or task, and deliver the final product to the requester by the due date 
  • Contribute to the firm's social media calendar 
  • Manage brand asset library and resources for the internal communications team and company-wide audience 
  • Manage communication-related projects that support the organization's initiatives (e.g., moving office locations, internal technology rollouts). Provide strategic recommendations on how to accomplish projects and come up with efficiencies to strengthen internal processes into the future 

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks as requested by management

Requirements

 

QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

  • High school degree or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree preferably in Communications, Journalism, or related discipline OR relevant experience required 
  • High competence in Microsoft Office required
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams is highly preferred
  • 3+ years of communications experience required 
  • 2+ years of experience communicating in multiple media channels to various audiences preferred
  • Comfortability leading meetings and presenting to groups
  • Video editing experience preferred, but not required 
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro preferred 
  • Ability to provide writing samples and complete a writing assessment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Perform under normal office conditions; may include lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Twist, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, stand, walk, and reach frequently
  • Hear, speak, and effectively verbally communicate in the English language, including following oral and written instructions to communicate with people inside and outside of the organization
  • Sit and a desk for extended periods of time and perform long hours of work sitting at a computer
  • Move around office/building/facilities repeatedly throughout the day
  • Apply manual dexterity, visual acuity and ability, for computer keyboarding, office equipment uses, review of detailed reports, information, fine print, and warning labels
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to travel to different North Risk Partners locations for meetings, as well as various locations throughout the state and potentially the region for client meetings
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule, including overtime, nights, and weekends to attend events and meetings as needed

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED 

Incumbents must be able to use telephones, calculators, copy machines, computers, printers, and other office equipment.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is primarily indoors. Exposure to a variety of weather conditions during work related travel and events held outside of the workplace will occur and I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree with the contents of this position description. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The estimated range for this full-time position is $30.77 - $38.46 hourly, plus benefits. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range represents the company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
