The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) is one of Georgia's four health agencies serving the state's growing population of over 10 million people. DCH serves as the lead agency for Medicaid, oversees the State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) and Healthcare Facility Regulation, impacting one in four Georgians.

The Department of Community Health is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Compliance Specialist 1 with the Medical Assistance Plans Division (MAP). This is a hybrid position that requires in-office and remote. The days and frequency in the office can change at any time during employment based on the business needs of the organization. This is a full-time, unclassified position categorized under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) as non-exempt.
Position Duties
- Provides oversight for Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) program and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training.
- Guide participants and their families through the eligibility and enrollment process for Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), including explaining the criteria, assisting with Medicaid application paperwork, and verifying documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of enrollment applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for inquiries related to the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) enrollment, responding promptly and courteously to all inquiries via phone, email, or in-person meetings.
- Provides professional, courteous, and helpful customer service to our internal and external customers.
- Records and evaluates personal and financial data obtained from individuals.
- The capability of being flexible with work assignments and the ability to multitask.
- Conducting onsite visits to PACE centers to ensure program compliance with the three-way agreement.
- Age, Blind & Disable policy and GATEWAY training and/or knowledge.
- Determine the eligibility for Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE),
- Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.
- Must live within a 55 miles radius; Travel required.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of job-related experience. Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or higher
- Strong background in Healthcare, Public Administration, or other health-related fields
- Knowledge and understanding of Medicaid and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services policies and regulations
- Significant Medicaid and Audit experience
- Demonstrated strategic mindset to understand legal decisions’ impacts to the agency
- Age, Blind & Disabled policy and GATEWAY training and/or knowledge
