We are looking for a Field Manager for a growing team at an installation, manufacturing and distribution company in Tampa, Florida. We provide building materials for the residential building market statewide with locations in Jacksonville, Sanford, Melbourne, Winter Haven, Tampa and Fort Myers. We are the largest independent turnkey supplier for lumber, truss, doors, and windows for general contractors, multifamily and single-family builders.
The Field Manager will be responsible for Pre and Post Walk of jobsites and direct communication between ABS and Builders for new construction in single-family and multi-family homes. The following description details the duties. These duties include but are not limited to the following functions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Door Specific
- Go to the Field, walk houses, and complete lot specific Take-offs.
- Access Bistrack to verify what the materials for the order were correct.
- Convert manual walk-sheet to typed Walk-sheet.
- Submit Builder EPO to Order Entry when issues arise caused by Builder or other traits.
- Post-walk house after Install, verifying install completed per Customer Specs.
- Pro-active communication between ABS and Builder/Super-intendants.
- Access Bistrack to verify when installs are scheduled for communication with Builders.
- Attach pictures to walk-sheets when the Install had defects and submit Fill-in tickets to fix issues.
- Research reasons for Fill-In Tickets.
- Help resolve problems for any issues that arise.
- Identify needs for additional material when needed.
- Approve extra PO’s when needed for extra trips and Add-ons.
- Emails Order Entry to create Pickup requests for extra material.
- Attend Internal Kickoff meeting to get exposed to the new jobs.
- Attends weekly jobsite safety and production meetings.
- Goes to jobsite to confirm field conditions with plan / quote.
- Measures and marks every door jamb/ conditions.
- Verifies door schedule with field conditions and verifies that he has the most up to date set of plans.
- Confirms any discrepancies with contractor and note changes to be fixed.
- Reviews with Project Coordinator to verify all counts align with field verification.
- Receives all orders once reviewed and completed, completes final review.
- Any updated orders per the Field Manager will be sent back to them to see fix.
- Responsible for a 2 and 4 week production forecast and communication of the info for each job.
- Confirms the schedule 5 business days prior to shipment.
- Receives notifications of delivery delay from Shipping / Dispatch.
- Confirms delivery for accuracy and incorrect items noted and sent back to the shop using the Discrepancy report.
- Update job schedule and schedule labor weekly.
- Helps with any warranty claim submitted.
- Meets delivery at site and takes full inventory, notifies discrepancies to the MF GM and AGM.
General:
- Work safely and report any unsafe conditions.
- Perform Pre-trip inspections of company vehicles daily.
- Train new Field Managers when needed.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience in estimating for new home construction.
- 2+ years of construction and building materials related experience.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret building plans in diagram form.
- Working knowledge of floorplans and elevations.
- Understanding of measurements and basic math principles.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- High degree of computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
Working conditions
- Job requires some extended hours, as needed, to accomplish job requirements.
- Job requires working in manufacturing or warehouse environment which includes high temperatures and humidity.
- Job requires working in and around machinery/powered equipment and associated safety risks.
- Job requires interaction with all levels within the location and all their direct reports (as needed).
- Job requires interaction with customers to resolve issues.
