The Role:
As the Driver Success Manager, you’ll be the key contact for drivers during their early weeks on the job and beyond, championing onboarding, training, and ongoing support. You’ll work closely with HR & Safety, Operations, and Dispatch to ensure every driver is set up for success.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support New Drivers – Be the first point of contact after onboarding, welcome new drivers with one-on-one or team lunches, and make sure they feel connected.
- Manage Training & Development – Prepare and update training materials, coordinate trainers with dispatch/planners, and ensure every driver gets the support they need during their first 4–8 weeks.
- Oversee Schedules & Requests – Handle driver requests for routes, zone transfers, or shift changes, working with Regional Managers to find the best solutions that balances busines needs with driver well-being.
- Ensure Accuracy & Efficiency – Compile and send driver hours reports, scrub payroll hours for accuracy, and highlight opportunities to save managers time.
- Guide Reviews & Feedback – Build driver performance reviews, schedule meetings with managers, and attend as a support to ensure consistent feedback and development that encourages growth.
- Promote Safety First – Maintain a safety-first mindset, manage safety video coaching for minor incidents, and escalate major trends to leadership. Work with drivers to reinforce safe driving practices.
- Drive Continuous Improvement – Take driver suggestions, review system changes (McLeod, Samsara, etc.), and work with leaders to implement improvements that streamline work and make drivers’ jobs easier.

Requirements
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s preferred; or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field given strongest preference.
- 5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, driver management, or operations support strongly preferred.
- Experience in training, onboarding, or coaching employees is a plus.
- Prior exposure to payroll or labor scheduling systems is helpful.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfortable learning new systems.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (McLeod, Samsara, or similar) is a strong plus.
- Ability to track hours, scrub payroll data, and process time-off requests accurately.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — able to build trust with drivers and collaborate with other leaders.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; able to balance multiple priorities.
