The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) is one of Georgia's four health agencies serving the state's growing population of over 10 million people. Position Duties
The Federal Programs Records and Data Specialist, under general to limited supervision, is responsible for the management of records and data related to on-site surveys of long-term care facilities regulated by the state to determine compliance with applicable state and/or federal rules and regulations. This position may be asked to request, monitor, and track records for survey investigations. This position also participates in and documents the Strategic Planning Process for Federal Programs. This position will collect, summarize and distribute survey related reports and incidents for survey teams. It also will track program progress related to SPSS and State of Georgia requirements and measures to review the quality of care delivered in federal and state facilities. Additionally, this position performs the following job duties.
- Requests, monitors, tracks and distributes records related to survey investigations in alignment with HFRD policies and procedures.
- Evaluates highly complex regulatory situations, ensures accuracy and timeliness of survey documents under strict deadlines.
- Tracks program progress related to CMS SPSS, measures.
- Generate reports and dashboards using tools like Excel, Adobe Writer, or Power BI
- Support data-driven projects across departments
- Maintain compliance with data privacy laws and company policies
- Identify opportunities for data process improvements
- Stay current with emerging data tools and technologies,
- Provide training or support to other team members on data tools and standards
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights
- May be required to review IJ templates or assist other teams in completion of IJ templates.
- Maintain awareness of federal laws and rule changes affecting program areas.
- Coordinates activities with appropriate agencies.
- Provide administrative support for federal program processes and initiatives
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Surveyor Minimum Qualifications (SMQT)Certification
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in state or federal regulatory compliance
- Advanced level education degree in related field
- 3–5+ years in compliance, auditing, or regulation—preferably in healthcare setting
