Job Description:

The Senior SharePoint Administrator / Systems Administrator will report to the VP of Network, Infrastructure & Security and will be responsible for the design, deployment, and administration of the company’s Microsoft SharePoint and broader systems infrastructure environment. This role will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of enterprise systems while supporting ongoing digital transformation and collaboration initiatives.

  • SharePoint Administration & Development
    • Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft SharePoint environments (on-premises and/or SharePoint Online) including sites, workflows, permissions, and integrations.
    • Develop and manage SharePoint architecture, governance policies, and security standards.
    • Create and manage custom SharePoint solutions, forms, and workflows to support business processes.
    • Monitor SharePoint performance, availability, and security, ensuring proactive issue resolution and optimization.
  • Systems Administration
    • Deploy, configure, and maintain servers, virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware), and cloud-based resources.
    • Manage Sharepoint, Teams, OneDrive, and other M365 services to ensure a seamless collaboration environment.
    • Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, security, and capacity issues, providing root cause analysis and solutions.
    • Implement and manage patching, upgrades, and system hardening for security and compliance.
    • Support and administer Azure infrastructure components, including security, and virtual resources.
  • Collaboration & Support
    • Provide Tier 3 support for SharePoint and system-related escalations.
    • Collaborate with IT leadership and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
    • Deliver training, support, and guidance to end users and junior staff to maximize system adoption and efficiency.
  • Professional Development & Security
    • Stay current on Microsoft, Azure, and SharePoint technologies by pursuing certifications and professional training.
    • Ensure environments remain compliant with security policies, applying updates, patches, and configuration controls.
    • Participate in audits, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity testing.
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Engineer, with at least 5 years focused on SharePoint administration.
  • Strong, hands-on experience with Microsoft SharePoint (on-premises and Online/Office 365).
  • Proven ability to design and manage complex system environments across cloud and on-premises platforms.
  • Experience with Azure infrastructure and services (VMs, networking, security groups, storage) a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive administration.
  • Proficiency with automation tools (PowerShell and other scripting languages).
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
