Come join our Community First Solutions Accounting team at our Resource Center in Hamilton Ohio!

 

The Senior Accountant will assist with monthly financials, account analysis and reconciliation, budgeting and special projects for the Organization.  This position will take ownership of specific duties assigned as well as provide leadership and expertise to the staff accountants.

 

The position will be detail and action oriented, organized, creative, and possess the aptitude and appetite for problem solving.  They will work with the Controller and Accounting Manager(s) to continually make improvements to processes by finding ways to streamline, reduce errors, make better estimates, reduce days to close, etc.

 

Scheduled: Full Time

Salary: Starts at $62,000 annually and goes up based on experience

Responsibilities:
  • Posting general ledger journal entries.
  • Payroll entries posted in accounting system within seven days of the pay date.
  • Bank, investment and general ledger account reconciliations monthly.
  • Deposits made as needed.
  • Cash receipt entries posted daily.
  • Assistance in preparation of audit work papers.
  • Assistance with tax and cost report preparation.
  • Internal and external reporting, including special contract billing.
  • Interpretation of various system reports for accurate recording.
  • Preparation of analytical reports and an understanding of their relevance both currently and for the future.
  • Monthly financial statement preparation and review.
  • Perform internal audit functions which could include but not be limited to compliance, cash, A/R review, documentation retention and destruction review.
  • Leadership involving various systems implementation.
  • Assists in financial analysis/pro-formas
  • If supervising staff, responsible for directing, setting goals, and balancing the workloads of those staff using independent judgment.
  • All other duties as assigned and appropriate for the position.
Qualifications:

Education:  Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or related field .  

Licenses or other required certifications: CPA preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience. Previous experience performing financial functions for multiple entities; non-profit and/or healthcare experience is desired but not mandatory.

Specialized knowledge, skills, or abilities:

  • Must possess excellent analytical/problem-solving skills, attention to detail and is able to demonstrate strong financial acumen.
  • Employee must be depended upon for their integrity, confidentiality and discretion as they will have access/exposure to information and data that is sensitive in nature.
  • Must be a team player with drive, ambition, a positive attitude and businesslike conduct.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership by example and remain calm under pressure. Serve as a positive role model for the department and organization.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and tasks without supervision.
  • Accepts and adapts well to organizational and departmental changes, as well as the rapidly changing healthcare reimbursement environment.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with various systems and accounting software.
  • Experience working in E.H.R. systems such as PointClickCare or Carelogic is beneficial but not necessary.
