POSITION OVERVIEW: As a CAD Technician at LJA Land Development, you will be responsible for creating detailed 2D design plans for land development projects using CAD software. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong technical background, a keen eye for detail and enjoys working in a collaborative environment on projects that shape the physical landscape. The CAD Technician plays a key role in the design and development process, ensuring that all plans are accurate, feasible, and ready for implementation.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

• Creating and Modifying Design Plans: Use CAD software to draft and revise site plans, elevation drawings, and other schematics for land development projects.
• Collaboration: Work closely with planners, engineers, and project managers to translate their conceptual designs into detailed CAD drawings.
• Data Management: Maintain and organize all CAD files and drawings in a systematic manner for easy retrieval and reference.
• Quality Control: Ensure all CAD drawings comply with industry standards and project specifications. This includes checking designs for accuracy and feasibility.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance on CAD-related issues to other team members.
• Continual Learning: Stay updated with the latest CAD software and techniques, including 3D modeling and BIM (Building Information Modeling) technologies.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Associate degree or higher in CAD, Drafting, Engineering, or a related field. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar.
• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in planning, land development or civil engineering environment.

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:

• Individuals must have a strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-Up, and Microsoft Office Suite skills are a plus. 
• A general understanding of land development principles is a plus.
• Ability to interpret and create technical drawings.
• Must demonstrate experience of working within a team structure.
