Job Summary:
We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our Mosinee, WI team! The Maintenance Supervisor will supervise and direct the maintenance mechanics in daily repair of all mechanical equipment in the entire pulp mill. This position ensures that the equipment is in good operating condition, utilizing precision maintenance and preventative/predictive maintenance is done to provide maximum equipment uptime. This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance team to perform regular checks, repairs, and routine maintenance. The Maintenance Supervisor plays a vital role in minimizing downtime and enhancing the overall safety and productivity of operations.
Essential Functions and Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise crew in all mechanical maintenance in the pulp mill area of the plant.
- Provide assistance in engineering and outside consultants to develop plans for mechanical growth and installation.
- Perform the normal supervisory duties of labor relations, safety, scheduling, training, discipline, and record-keeping to maintain efficient department operations.
- Promote a safe working environment through seasonal and job specific safety discussions.
- Assign scheduled work and oversee the day-to-day direction or personnel relative to job safety, quality and workmanship. Develop individual accountability for job completion and timeliness.
- Direct personnel to scope and prep for upcoming jobs per planner’s request.
- Work with the operations management team every morning and communicate with them each afternoon on work in progress and make sure all equipment concerns discussed that morning are addressed.
- Maintain housekeeping and shop equipment.
- Work with the planning and operations teams on equipment rounds and scheduling of time to adjust.
- Work with operations to address all safety issues in a timely manner.
- Identify and address improvements in work practices and procedures to reduce wasted activities and time by crafts people.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance operations experience, with proven leadership experience in managing teams.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or administration recommended.
- Relevant knowledge in maintenance management such as a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Plant Engineer (CPE) are highly advantageous.
- Union experience is a plus.
