Job Summary
Responsibilities for the selected individual will be updating the current MySQL relational database and server to improve stability and useability of the current system. The chosen applications programmer will assist with server development, updating, testing, and debugging source code that automates the collection, processing, analysis, and database insertion and routine backups of behavioral videos of zebrafish and specific drug treatments in response to a battery of stimuli.
Finally, the selected individual will have some administrative duties, including ordering supplies, maintaining hardware on a NAS server, and maintenance of the custom-built behavioral rigs. The selected will also have the opportunity to work with other postdocs and graduate students.
***NOTE: This is a 1-year Full-time Contract role.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $52,800 - $112,000 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Knowledge relating to the design, development, modification, and implementation of software, including object-oriented programming concepts.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
- Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with MySQL and Ariflow and demonstrating data visualization skills.
- Experience/training in Linux server, Python, Python notebooks, high-throughput screening, and integration of hardware and computers through an Arduino is a plus.
