JOB OVERVIEW
The Sports Club Associate Operations Manager oversees the Operations team - Front Desk, Public Space (Housekeeping) and Court Maintenance teams, including Supervisors, Coordinators, and Attendants, ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest standards of quality and guest experience.
This key supervisory role ensures the seamless daily operations of The Sports Club and uphold Forbes Travel Guide and Preferred Hotel standards. This position is responsible for delivering an exceptional experience to members and resort guests by maintaining operational excellence and service consistency.
Working collaboratively across departments within the Sports Club and the Resort, the Associate Operations Manager supports smooth communication and coordination. This role provides leadership, training and mentorship to a diverse team, fostering professional growth and empowering both direct and indirect reports.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Boar's Head Sports Club - both indoors and outdoors at the front desk, pool decks, tennis courts and grounds.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversee daily operations of the Sports Club, including Operations, Public Space and Court Maintenance teams, ensuring objectives are met across all timeframes.
- Manage scheduling, payroll, purchasing and invoicing for assigned teams and departments.
- Evaluate team performance through ongoing feedback and annual reviews; provide training, coaching, and mentorship to staff at all levels.
- Monitor member and guest activity, revenue and departmental reports to assess performance and support resort-wide weekly recaps.
- Partner with department heads to coordinate programming, seasonal operations and facility upkeep.
- Cross-train across key departments (Front Desk, Housekeeping, Court Maintenance, Aquatics) to provide operational support as needed.
- Enforce guest service standards and safety procedures, including CPR certification and emergency response readiness.
- Maintain knowledge of Sports Club programs, events and initiatives to ensure consistent guest/member satisfaction.
- Adhere to and ensure adherence by all team members to Forbes Four Star and Preferred Hotel standards and Boar’s Head policies (as defined in the team member handbook).
- Contribute to overall resort team effort by completing additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Sports Management, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in hospitality, fitness, or luxury club operations.
- Experience managing multi-department teams.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and accountability skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration across departments.
- Organized with experience in scheduling, payroll, purchasing and budgets.
- Guest-service driven with ability to solve problems under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and scheduling/property management systems.
- CPR/First Aid certified (or able to obtain within 90 days).
- Familiarity with front desk, housekeeping, and/or facility/court maintenance.

- Flexible to work indoors/outdoors, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications
- Background in luxury resort, hotel or private club operations.
- Experience with Forbes Travel Guide, Preferred Hotel or AAA Diamond service standards.
- Bilingual or multilingual communication skills.
