About the Department
Catawba County Social Services is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated professional to join our Economic Services Quality Assurance team. This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and effectiveness of Adult Medicaid services. The ideal candidate will be proficient in interpreting complex federal and state policies, analyzing data to identify trends, and providing training and feedback to enhance program performance. Strong communication, project management, and adaptability are essential, as this role works closely with staff across multiple levels of the organization. The ideal applicant will have knowledge and experience in Adult Medicaid.
Position Duties
- Review Adult Medicaid case records, benefit determinations, and communicate with clients to ensure compliance with policy and proper service delivery
- Conduct accurate, timely case reviews for Eligibility staff and provide constructive feedback
- Gather and analyze quality review data to identify error trends and recommend corrective action
- Develop and deliver training, resources, and reference materials for new and existing staff
- Stay current with policy changes and ensure staff are updated with clear guidance
- Support staff in using automated systems through both formal and informal training
- Provide customer service and problem resolution when clients dispute case actions
- Perform casework periodically to remain current on policy, systems, and practice
- Interview, gather, and verify information to support eligibility determinations
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Human Services, Business, or a closely related field and 2 years of experience as an Adult Medicaid Income Maintenance Caseworker; OR
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and 3 years of demonstrated experience with mathematical work and/or public contact involving interviewing, gathering, and compiling information, and 2 years of experience as an Adult Medicaid Income Maintenance Caseworker specifically.
Other Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of income maintenance programs, forms, and documentation, with specialized knowledge in Adult Medicaid
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences
- Proven ability to facilitate groups, present effectively, and foster a positive learning environment
- Strong analytical skills to interpret, apply, and explain policies, procedures, and regulations
- Good judgment in assessing training needs, setting objectives, and evaluating learning outcomes
- Advanced computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Word and Excel
