SUMMARY
This position is to specialize in fabrication of solid surface and wood materials. This fabrication is done mainly by hand with the use of power tools including CNC Onsrud, panel saw, miter saw, routers, hand sanders, and V-groovers. All building will be done by hand. This role is primarily responsible for the overall production, quality, and safety of the Solid Surface team. This is a working Team Lead position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a team of solid surface fabricators to ensure the highest quality of surfaces on a variety of materials.
- Provide directions to the department employees for job placement and expectations for the day to ensure department KPIs are met.
- Monitor employee productivity and coach employees when they are off task or not meeting expectations.
- Uphold quality with the solid surface department
- Continue to train and develop current and new employees.
- Demonstrate initiative for improving department KPI’s.
- Sustainability of department 5S standards,
- Ensuring all department employees are following safety guidelines, policies, and standards.
- Effective communication with leaders upstream and downstream to ensure expedition of jobs required for distribution/install are completed on time.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of finished products.
- Read and interpret plans and blueprints to produce solid surface countertops within tolerances and specifications
- Operate power saws, routers, and hand tools of various sizes
- Sand and polish countertops with skill and finesse
- Use glues and caulks to join seams and parts
- Physically lift and move substantial parts
- Operation of CNC Onsrud
- Fabricate product to specified CAD drawings holding all tolerances and quality expectations.
- Responsible for process developments, improvements, and implementation.
- Build complex structures with the understanding of geometry and angles.
- Responsible for process improvement and maintaining documentation of all work procedures in the department
- Other duties and responsibilities as defined by supervisor.

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-3 years fabrication/building experience
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to work while standing for 8 to 12 hour shifts
- Ability to move and carry substantial parts on varied surfaces
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow all safety requirements
- Ability to use measuring tools
