Are you in?Primary Purpose:PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Under general direction, performs responsible, specialized, and confidential assignments and research.
Primary Duties:PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES- Provide legal administrative support to attorneys, including assisting in the preparation of reports and presentations, handling inquiries, scheduling meetings and appointments, arranging travel and expense reimbursement, and other office support functions. (40%)
- Collect, analyze, organize and maintain the entire array of electronic and hard-copy data, information, records and documents, and utilize applicable software systems (e.g., legal hold and document review platforms), as needed to support Legal attorneys and to manage document subpoena productions/responses (20%)
- Collect, analyze, organize and maintain matter budgets, in accordance with correct legal practice and procedure. (10%)
- Develop and maintain a knowledge of other internal procedures and processes in the applicable areas of practice within the law department (10%)
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with clients to obtain and clarify information needed to substantiate facts, identify documents, and otherwise support legal actions. (10%)
- Participate or handle department-wide special projects as appropriate. (10%)
This role handles confidential material. Must be committed to producing products of high-quality involving court documents and other legal matters. Schedules appointments, gives information to callers and otherwise relieves attorneys of clerical and administrative work and business detail. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Paralegal certification or related degree and 4 years experience preferred; in lieu of degree, a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience is required (law firm or legal department experience).
- Possess a general knowledge legal practices and procedures, including litigation, and the rules or procedures required of the various courts and administrative systems. Possess a working knowledge of legal terminology.
- Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office and other technologies including PowerPoint and Excel and legal hold, document management and matter management systems.
- Possess and demonstrate initiative and sound judgment required to make decisions without supervision and in the absence of exact established procedures.
- Possess the ability to communicate clearly � both orally and in writing � and to read and analyze legal materials and related data.
