We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced person to join our Operations team as a Production Team Leader on 1st Shift at our Evansville, IN facility. The main purpose of this position is to complete the daily/weekly production schedule and manage its planning while assisting with the coordination of production manufacturing related activities to meet customer demand and requirements. Maintain the facility to ensure a safe, healthy, quality, and efficient work environment for all employees. This role is responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and employee morale.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of Schedule – Ensure that the schedule and customer demand is met. Communicate with appropriate Red Spot personnel regarding the schedule.
  • Quality of Product – manage the scheduled manufacturing of products to ensure customer satisfaction is met, while working towards continual improvement efforts to error-proof processes, thus decreasing hits per batch, eliminating scrap and improving First Time Quality.
  • Budget/Safety – review process efficiencies to ensure safety and minimize costs in the manufacturing process as it pertains to man hours per batch, gallons manufactured per man hour, etc.
  • Physically assist in all areas of the facility as needed  serve as a back-up to other personnel when assistance is needed. Must show willingness to always support and step in to work together to get the job done through promotion of teamwork.
  • Aid in Policy Creation - Aids in the creation of policy design with managers and Human Resource Dept., first line of union grievance step, timecards.
  • Reviews work instructions – associated with the above-mentioned job title and regularly attends company-wide training on areas such as Corporate Ethics, Safety, Environmental, etc. Assist with employee development by ensuring they are trained, and training hours are recorded.

Qualifications:

  • GED and/or High School diploma required
  • 4-year bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • 3-5+ years of experience in direct paint manufacturing
  • 1-3+ years of Managerial Experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing training/certifications are preferred
  • Any combination of equivalent education and experience in Supervision/Management Position.
  • Employee must pass a color blindness test
  • Ability to speak and read English fluently and/or bilingual.

Abilities/Competencies:

  • Excellent computer and data entry skills – MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; capable of relating to individuals at all levels of the Organization.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate, detailed files and records, and comply with appropriate record keeping requirements.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks and employees, in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, make decisions, resolve issues, and meet critical time deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of customer information, company formulations, raw materials, vendors, etc. As well as all Company information and matters.
  • Ability to mentor other employees/departments on manufacturing process
  • Ability to aid and participate in policy creation with managers and human resource department.
  • Shows initiative and drive.
  • Ability to interpret, train, and enforce company policies, including Quality/EHS procedures and policies, and all applicable government regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of customer base, production lines, processes, and all other areas of Operations.

Physical Demand/Working Conditions:

  • Walking around in department and throughout company to perform various tasks and obtain items.
  • Use of hands/wrists; uses various office equipment including computer, phone, copy machine, etc.
  • Stand for long periods of time on concrete surface.
  • Talking on phone, talking in person with fellow employees.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites or other buildings on premises.
