ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The Head of Clinical Applications is responsible for leading the national clinical applications team across all Samsung Healthcare segments in the U.S., including Women’s Health (WH), General Imaging (GI), Point of Care (POC), Veterinary (Vet) Ultrasound, Digital Radiography (DR), and Computed Tomography (CT). This role includes direct oversight of clinical leaders with a focus on driving excellence in customer support, clinical training, and strategic business alignment. The successful candidate will build and scale a high-performing team, develop clinical strategies to support commercial goals, and partner cross-functionally to ensure Samsung’s technologies are effectively demonstrated and adopted in healthcare settings across the US as well as the global segment for mCT


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
  • Manage and mentor the clinical applications team across all segments—WH, GI, POC, Vet Ultrasound, DR, and CT—including oversight of clinical people managers and field-based specialists
  • Align clinical initiatives with commercial goals, ensuring the applications team supports sales growth, product adoption, and customer satisfaction
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and R&D to deliver coordinated clinical messaging, support product launches, and shape go-to-market strategies
  • Ensure high-quality customer onboarding, training, and clinical support to maximize system utilization and build long-term customer relationships
  • Attract top clinical talent, create scalable onboarding programs, and foster a performance-based culture that emphasizes learning, accountability, and career development
  • Implement tools and KPIs to measure team effectiveness, customer satisfaction, and clinical impact; use data to guide resource allocation and improve performance
  • Ensure best practices, standardized protocols, and segment-specific clinical expertise are leveraged across the ultrasound, DR, and CT portfolio
  • Serve as the clinical liaison between field teams and corporate functions; represent Samsung at industry events, trainings, and customer-facing presentations
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Sales Enablement to create and deliver clinical education programs that support internal training, product knowledge, and continued professional development
  • Oversee clinical contributions to digital platforms, educational content, and social media to enhance brand visibility and thought leadership
  • Operating Budget Management Responsible for managing the clinical applications operating budget
  • Support and Optimize On-site / Virtual Demonstrations
  • Lead the strategy and execution of on-site and virtual clinical demonstrations, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality demos aligned with product positioning
  • Establish performance metrics to evaluate demo effectiveness and develop best practices to continuously enhance demo quality and clinical impact
  • Drive Clinical Excellence in Trade Shows and Industry Events
  • Provide strategic clinical support at national and regional trade shows
  • Develop and implement methods to clearly and efficiently communicate product value propositions in high-traffic environments, ensuring alignment with commercial messaging and optimizing audience engagement
  • This position requires 70% of your work time dedicated to business travel


  • EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years Ultrasound commercial experience at a leadership level preferred; multi-modality experience highly desirable
  • RDMS required. Registered Diagnostic Sonographer in 4 or more specialties 
  • MAEd or equivalent experience 
  • Experience in Digital Radiography (DR) and/or Computed Tomography (CT) preferred, particularly in field-based clinical support, image tuning, and issue resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or support clinical optimization efforts in DR/CT environments, including protocol standardization, tuning feedback, and collaboration with service teams
  • Strong understanding of DICOM standards and PACS workflows, including image transfer, storage, and integration in clinical environments
  • Familiarity with FDA regulatory guidelines and ACR imaging standards, particularly in relation to image quality, radiation dose, and modality compliance for DR and CT
  • Required to wear dosimeter when in direct contact with radiation emitting devices
  • Attend/complete all required training
  • Follow all company policies regarding travel, expenses, meetings, and meals
  • Ensure articulation of the organization’s desired vision and brand. Assure consistent communication to all constituencies, both internal and external
  • Valid driving license and satisfactory driving record is mandatory, and background and drug testing (pre and post-employment) is required
  • Willing to travel overnight
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and work effectively in a demanding, fast paced environment


  • COMPUTER & ANALYTIC SKILLS
  • You must be comfortable with technology, be able to present using a laptop computer and be able demonstrate proficiency with MS Office package, including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint; as well as Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome
  • Familiarity with clinical and economic outcome data, reimbursement, and managed care policies and procedures is highly desirable 
  • Must be able to assemble facts from various areas, analyze data, and provide informed recommendations to management


  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear
  • Must be able to sit and/or drive for long periods of time when travelling
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time (8-15 hours) for multiple days
  • Regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions; extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather).
  • Interaction with x-ray devices; for this reason strict safety and tracking programs are in place, requiring the utilization of dose monitoring equipment either full time or as necessitated by situation
  • The noise level in the work environment is occasionally very loud.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus
