PRIMARY FUNCTION/RESPONSIBILTY

As a Grant Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in managing, writing and coordinating grants for our organization. You will be responsible for researching, identifying, and applying for grant opportunities that align with our organization's mission and goals. Additionally, you will assist with the grant application process, ensuring compliance with guidelines and deadlines. The Grant Coordinator will work closely with various departments within the organization to gather information, prepare grant proposals, and monitor the progress and outcomes of funded projects. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and identify potential grant funding opportunities that align with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather information, data, and statistics required for grant applications.
  • Ensure compliance with grant guidelines, requirements, and deadlines.
  • Monitor the progress and outcomes of funded projects and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with program managers and project teams to ensure effective implementation of funded projects.
  • Track and manage grant-related documentation, including contracts, agreements, and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct regular reviews and evaluations of grant-funded programs to assess effectiveness and impact.
  • Stay updated on relevant industry trends, best practices, and changes in grant regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as nonprofit management, public administration, or business.
  • Proven experience in grant coordination, grant writing, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of grant funding sources and grant application processes.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit organizations and their operations.
  • Understanding of program evaluation and outcome measurement.
  • Strong understanding of financial management and budgeting principles.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and prioritize competing demands.
  • Strong commitment to the organization's mission and objectives.

 

Preferred: 

  • Professional certification in grant management or related field.

 

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: 

  • Valid Texas Driver’s License, safe driving record, ability to provide own transportation and proof of current automobile insurance. 

KNOWLEDGEABLE/ABILITIES

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information from various sources.
  • Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in preparing grant proposals and maintaining documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in grant management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of grant writing techniques, including budget development and evaluation of outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with grant regulations, compliance requirements, and reporting procedures.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND INFORMATION

  • Body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, walk briskly to interact with and monitor children. 
  • Stamina to work long days and drive long distances.  
  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 60 pounds. 
  • Must have the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. 
  • Must have the ability to give and receive verbal and written instructions (with or without hearing aids). 
  • Must have the ability to read fine print, have sustained vision, and peripheral vision (with or without glasses). 
  • Environment requires dexterity to remain calm and adapt to fast paced and emotional environments consisting of children with moderate to severe emotional and psychological needs. 
  • Minimum 40 hours per week but may necessitate additional time to complete assigned work, which would include evenings and weekends. 
  • Home-like settings with varying moderate to high degrees of background noise.  
  • Light and ventilation are found in a typical home setting. 
  • Campuses are smoke-free, except on permitted campuses in designated areas.
