Washburn Center for Children serves nearly 4,800 children ages 0-18 and approximately 11,000 family members each year. Washburn Center’s three office locations – Brooklyn Park, Edina, and Minneapolis – serve the entire Twin Cities metro area. The nonprofit also offers in-home services, and its school-based program serves 55+ schools in the Eden Prairie, Bloomington, District 191, Columbia Heights and Minneapolis school districts.

Responsibilities

Clinical Performance and Documentation - The DBT/Crisis Supervisor is to ensure that DBT and Crisis clinicians are performing and documenting treatment best practices by being responsible for the following:

Ensure clinicians provide effective assessment and therapeutic services:
· Provide training as needed to support crisis and DBT clinicians
· Collaborate with intake to ensure referrals and requests for services are triaged for program fit, responded to, and processed efficiently and effectively to help clients access services and referral services
· Work with Washburn Center clinical, support, and reimbursement staff as well as external resources to refine systems to improve access, streamline systems, and facilitate enrollment with oversight from the Clinical Director
· Coordinate afterhours coverage services and ensure all clients have active safety plans
· Support staff professional development related to culturally responsive clinical practice
· Maintain knowledge of and supervise staff ensuring practice is consistent with the Agency’s Clinical Policies and Procedures
· Provide regular clinical supervision to assist clinical staff in developing and providing effective therapeutic services on a case-by-case basis as well as to support clinicians to develop their clinical skills and ensure high quality clinical care
· Be available for clinicians needing quick and timely case consultations to ensure the best care for clients

Oversee clinical documentation practices to meet state and contract requirements:
· Review charts, sign-off, and discuss assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, clinical supervision, and other clinical documentation for prelicensed clinicians and for staff that need support in these areas to review quality and accuracy to meet state DHS and other contracted requirements
· Ensure MN and HIPPA data privacy requirements are followed

Outcomes collection:
· Work with staff to reliably collect outcomes data and use as appropriate for consultation, evaluation, quality improvement, and reporting purposes

Supervision and Leadership - The DBT/Crisis Supervisor is to provide effective leadership in hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating staff through the following responsibilities:
· Work with HR and other program staff as needed to recruit, interview, and hire qualified staff
· Oversee supervision of interns as needed
· Complete timely annual and quarterly performance evaluations for supervisees
· Facilitate weekly team meetings and monthly consultation groups
· Provide weekly individual and/or group supervision as appropriate for program clinicians
· Provide resources, training, feedback, and activities as needed to build a cohesive, productive team
· Create a positive, respectful work environment
· Provide indirect evaluation and supervision of the support staff for the Crisis and DBT programs
· Collaborate with the clinical supervisor's team and internal administrative teams to ensure continuous improvement for various processes and systems across the Agency
· Build a learning and growth environment by working with HR in identifying top performers and developing succession plans
· Participate in the community program supervisor group meetings
· Participate in the License Eligible Group Support and External Subgroups

Teamwork and Cooperation - The DBT/Crisis Supervisor is to participate in and contribute to other agency teams and meetings as needed, including:
· Participate in ongoing Agency committees or teams, e.g., accounts receivable, InclusionTALX, Diversity and Inclusion Task Force, in-service planning, etc.
· Meet regularly with the Clinical Director to communicate program updates and changes
· Participate in external meetings with other providers, referral sources, payers, and other stakeholders as assigned by the Clinical Director to develop relationships, generate referrals, or improve systems
· Actively participate with the clinical supervisors team including participation in work groups, planning retreats and trainings, and other team initiatives as identified

Program Management - The DBT/Crisis Supervisor is to oversee program productivity, budgeting, and required reporting including the following responsibilities:

DBT Program Coordination
- Manage and oversee DBT program activities, in close coordination with the Director of Community-Based Programs;
- Provide oversight of DBT Skills Group co-facilitators, including signing off on their paperwork when required;
- Work with the Director of Community-Based Programs to coordinate and implement weekly DBT consultation with all DBT facilitators and co-facilitators;
- Other duties as assigned.

Develop and maintain systems and relationships to maintain budgeted utilization for program services:
· Ensure clients are receiving services consistent with the program model
· Coordinate program intakes and enrollments
· Facilitate assignment of clients through intake and manage caseload for each DBT and Crisis clinician supervised
· Work with program clinicians, program support, and the reimbursement staff to maintain timely authorizations for services

Participate in program budget development and monitor revenue and expenses:
· Mange program revenue and expenses based on budgeted guidelines and work with the Clinical Director and finance directors to review and develop program the program budget
· Review utilization and financial reports, monitor trends, and develop follow-up plans with the Clinical Director, the Chief Clinical Officer, and the HR Director as needed
· Work with the Clinical Director and the HR Director to identify and pursue opportunities for program expansion

Reporting and Program Oversight:
· Work with the program support staff, the Clinical Director, and the Chief Clinical Officer to complete required reporting, e.g., Hennepin County outcomes reports, grant reports, etc.)
· Work with the Clinical Director and Chief Clinical Officer to ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and licensing guidelines and requirements, e.g., Rule 29, DHS Provider Manual Chapter 16, grievance logs, data privacy, etc.

Professional Development and Training - The DBT/Crisis Supervisor is to ensure new staff complete all trainings and ongoing professional development required for program clinicians, including:
· Lead team diversity and cultural responsiveness efforts by providing resources, training, and activities to promote cultural responsiveness practice and integrate consideration of cultural dynamics in supervision, training, consultation, and documentation
· Participate in planning of Agency-wide and team training events
· Support arrangements, as needed, for all new staff and interns to attend Agency trainings for new staff, i.e., HR Orientation, data privacy, EHR training, and a review of the Clinical Policies and Procedures

Individual CSE expectations

DBT Groups
- Facilitate English-speaking DBT skills groups when necessary.
- Provide oversight on the paperwork required for DBT clients to participate in the program, including, but not limited to, diagnostic assessments, functional-behavioral assessments, CASIIs, external DA reviews, and other requirements.
- Prepare and submit insurance prior authorizations when required.
- Other duties as assigned.

DBT Individual Therapy
- When necessary, provide individual DBT therapy for each English-speaking group.
- Participate in 1.5 hours of consultation with the DBT team each week.
- Maintain all documentation according to agency timeliness expectations.
- Other duties as assigned.


Requirements
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in social work, clinical counseling or marriage and family therapy is required.
  • Be approved, certified, or in some other manner recognized as a qualified clinical supervisor by the person's professional licensing board, when this is a board requirement.
  • Hold a license without restrictions that has been in good standing for at least one year while having performed at least 1,000 hours of clinical practice is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience providing mental health services to children and families is required is required.
  • Trained as a DBT for Adolescents provider is required.
  • 2-4 years of clinical supervision experience is strongly desired.
  • Must have vehicle in operating condition, a valid driver’s license, and car insurance.
  • Top candidates will show strong leadership and organizational skills and a knowledge of children's mental health targeted case management.

    Holidays:  There are 2.5 days/20 hours of floating holidays per year in addition to the eight standard holidays.
