Job Type: Part-Time Benefited (Full-Time option is available)

About the Role: 

The Outreach Program Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing the mission of the Center for Tax Education (CTE) by leading efforts in communications, event coordination, community engagement, and data management. Reporting directly to the Director, the Outreach Program Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with a wide range of stakeholders – including students, volunteers, faculty, alumni, donors, and community partners – to enhance the center’s visibility and impact. This position oversees the planning and execution of outreach initiatives, supports the coordination of both digital and in-person events, and manages social media strategy and content. Additionally, the OPC acts as a key liaison with the university’s marketing and communications office and provides frontline support for the CTE office during peak periods such as tax season. 

This role is ideal for a dynamic communicator and organizer who thrives in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment and is passionate about community engagement and education. 


Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of related work experience.
  • Demonstrated record of a high level of conscientiousness, follow-through, and attentiveness to detail.
  • Demonstrated record of outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Supervisory skills and expertise (planning, delegation, performance management).
  • Proficiency in Word Office suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint.
  • Experience in social media marketing; content creation and content organization; social media technology.
  • Experience coordinating events.
  • Experience with community relationship management.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with CTE Director to coordinate production of outreach emails, newsletters, and any other external communications.
  • Liaise with the Office of Marketing and Communications regarding all communications needs, including web page updates, printing, and event promotion and advertising. Serve as CTE point person on communications about special events. 
  • Assist with coordination of CTE social media efforts; organize content calendar, collaborate with students, volunteers, colleagues, alumni, and community, create and edit content, post regularly on accounts, and manage social media inquiries and engagement.
  • Assist with the planning and oversee the logistics of all CTE events. Events are targeted at a broad range of audiences, including students, volunteers, community partners and general community members, and may include seminars, luncheons, receptions, orientations, panels, workshops, and tabling. 
  • Support community outreach and stewardship efforts, including identifying potential opportunities and partners, managing partner contact data, and coordinating the connection of students with community partners as appropriate.
  • Manage ongoing updates of CTE personnel directories, including webpage updates for campus-wide directory, internal contact cards, and Outlook group contacts. 
  • Serve as point of contact of the CTE main office when there are gaps in student-volunteer coverage. Address students, volunteers, staff, faculty, and public inquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face communication. Provide a high level of customer service and solve problems using/referring to the appropriate resources.
  • Provide admin support as needed during the tax season.

This role requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Strong organizational abilities and event coordination expertise are essential for planning and executing outreach events, as well as managing social media content and engagement effectively. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in support of the Center for Tax Education’s mission and outreach objectives.
