BUSINESS UNIT
Ziegler Capital Markets (ZCM) is a market leading Trader and Underwriter of High Yield (HY) and General Market (GM) municipal bond credits. Our historical focus is on Healthcare, Hospital, Senior Care, Higher Education, Private Education, Charter School, Project Finance, and General Market transactions in the municipal bond market. Our client base are Tier I, II, and III Mutual Funds, ETF’s, SMA’s, Money Managers, Insurance Companies, and Trading Vehicles.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking an experienced Municipal Bond ETF trader to add to our existing and growing Municipal ETF footprint. Our ETF book is municipal HY and HG in nature. Our traders work in a team environment with other cash Traders, Technology Development, Operations personnel, and Research, to encourage optimal performance. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of either building or operating a Municipal Bond ETF book. In addition, automated Municipal Bond trading strategy experience would be a plus.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Maintain and further enhance the ZCM HY/GM Municipal ETF trading footprint, including the sourcing of municipal bonds.
- Research new market opportunities.
- Apply a data-driven and market experience approach to the municipal ETF Create and Redeem process.
- Use trading metrics, data analysis, and live market experiences, to identify inefficiencies, streamline trading metrics, in order to identify Muni Market or ETF Share opportunities.
- Constantly strive to improve risk management techniques.
- Continuously contribute to the ZCM team investment and trading strategies.
Professional qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in: Finance, Economics, Business, Computer Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative disciplines.
- Experience with the ETF Create / Redeem process, both equity shares and cash Muni’s as it relates to Municipal Bond HY and GM ETF’s.
- Relationship management skills with Fund complex partners, market making partners, and Operations staff, and internal sales/trading teams, for both equities and fixed income sides of the ETF trade mechanisms.
- FINRA Series 7 License and willingness to obtain future licensure as requires. Ziegler is a FINRA regulated Broker Dealer.
- CFA Level III designation is a plus.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in computer programming is a plus.
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION
The applicable base salary range for this role is $100,000 to $140,000. The base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, and education. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for trading commissions and/or a performance-based bonus. A comprehensive benefits package is offered to full-time associates including medical, vision, dental, ancillary insurance, Paid Time Off, and a 401(k)-retirement plan with firm matching.
